Having seen the fight it’s pretty obvious an in condition Bakole would have knocked Parker out

"A fully fit Bakole" is much like a slimline Andy Ruiz - purely mythical.

That said Bakole was definitely causing Parker a few issues before getting ironed out.

Lets see Bakole get in better shape , beat Ajabga and then go from there.

Had Bakole been fit, Joe would have boxed him and stopped him later is all. Martin is untried and untested, slow feet, minimal defence. A big punching, slow moving chin at this point...and I think the chin bubble is burst. Let's see how he goes, I thought he was legit after Anderson but rewatched it and boy, he got hit a lot.

Not sure about destroy, but from a skill perspective Bakole proved he belonged in there before the knockout. He did very well pressuring Parker and landed great uppercuts and sneaky body hooks on the inside. His only problem is his defense and, maybe, his durability.

Not really, just in his fight condition like he was vs Jared.

Having seen the fight, I am starting to wonder if the Jared Anderson win was a bit of a fluke.

That’s a really bad conclusion to take away from the fight. Doesn’t sound genuine but rather just a retort.

    And that's against a prospect...

I don't know why so many people (not you, necessarily, I don't know!) seem to jump from barely knowing who a fighter is to hyping them up as the next champion before they've beaten anything close to a contender.

Some highly hyped fighters go far, most don't... And yet I'm the negative one who "can't see" when I point that out

Or, maybe the better conclusion would be... Don't hype people up for beating prospects?

I suspect a fully fit Bakole would have been major trouble. Parker wains mid fight onwards but so does Bakole...but Bakole seems more natural and relaxed in the ring to me. Parker gets tense and tires himself out.

Bakole took some shots early in the 2nd and just kind of said to himself screw it, all in and walked straight into Parker which didn't pay off at all. Only took a few jabs of Bakole to bust up Parker.

Parkers main weapon is that overhand right of his and he does like to walk people into it. No doubt he trained to walk Dubious into it where possible.

To be fair Bakole did kind of defend it with the top of his head

Oh, I know/knew who Bakole was man. The Anderson fight was a good one, and I remember thinking on the night, wow, he's bashed up another prospect, he's on his way now. I still thought he was raw, but beating someone at or even slightly above his level was more impressive than thumping the ghost of Takam past... But when I watched the fight again I realised, had Anderson had more pep, more dig, jeez...he hit Bakole often...and the much vaunted power of Bakole was more Joyce like than explosive, it is concussive not devastating if you see what I mean. He has always looked slow of foot, but ironically in that fight, maybe his nest showing, I saw more of his faults than previously. I still thought he was a good, solid prospect even after the rewatch...and I still do. Hope the big man does well, he seems a decent fella and a hard nights work for most when he's fit...but Parker for me is a level above him, and AJ, and Dubois, Usyk are many levels removed from him. Only an opinion.

All fair opinion - and as I said, I didn't know if that was you (it's just something I see plenty of).

I'll have to rewatch it, I recall him looking fairly well in control - I just didn't think it meant much because Anderson is a young/pre-prime prospect who hasn't achieved much...

Again, this might not be you - but seeing people on here hyping Bakole up as a legit contender who'd be a nightmare for the top guys off the back of beating a prospect? I just found that ridiculous - but it's nothing new.

Not so fast!!! Parker did not train to fight Bakole. Stands to reason he may have performed much better as well. So a fight between them ending with Parker being knocked out isn't a forgone conclusion.
