Having seen the fight it’s pretty obvious an in condition Bakole would have knocked Parker out

Yeah Parker couldn't have performed better considering the circumstances. A 2nd round KO is basically the best he could have hoped for.

All sparring champ memes aside, Bakole is a good fighter, deceptively tricky and puts his punches together unusally well. He got hit with a freak shot and hopefully he gets a fight with Zhang for example if he gets through Ajagba. Shame his ranking suffered though.

I think everyone overestimates Bakole a little, don’t get me wrong, Bakole is a bad boy but don’t forget that he got stopped by a cruiser so it’s not like he’s evincible when he’s in shape.

i dont know crap about bakole. dont know what he looks like with a full camp. just knew him from talk about him here. this was the first time ive seen him in a fight. just on what i was watching, i was impressed with his handspeed, timing and quick trigger. he has the reflexes and hand speed to catch a hole as its opening up. you can do a lot with that. not impressed with his defense. or his physical fitness. also, from the little i got to see, he looked like he was zeroing in on parker, little by little. i said this in the rd by rd.
parker also impressed me. i liked his aggressiveness and how he was also hitting with authority. didnt think much of it at the time, because i dont know parker to be a fearsome puncher. but that shot went through bakole, full weight behind it. he had been throwing it but catching mostly forehead and top of head, where you got some thick bone and full support of your neck under the shot. this one hit the temple with little loss of energy.

He is basically a Joe Joyce/Zhang hybrid but a far more cultured fighter than both of them. Has that batter the door down approach but very intuitive in his punch selection. It is targeted damage rather than windmilling. He is better than his Parker showing. I think he will come back.

Some of those people should really look at themselves in the mirror. There's one in particular on here so ugly that he could make a mirror crack so that probably wouldn't be the best idea.

I know Bakole just got off the couch, didn’t prepare, had the long flight, little sleep all that. But I have had it before this fight and now even more so….I think there is some fragility with Bakole. As big and scary as he looks I don’t think he is mentally and physically as though as he looks when he is on the receiving end.

I was really impressed with Bakole's offense against Kevin Johnson, a journeyman who went the distance with Dubois, Kabayel, Klitschko, Fury, Chisora, Hrgovic, Andy Ruiz, etc. Johnson knows how to survive, and watching Bakole take turns breaking Johnson's high guard, cross guard, and philly shell with combinations from crazy angles was very impressive.

Even his loyal fans don't think so, he only wins by Usyk getting old or a big shot landing at the right time. Parker hype is basically non-existent, the only time he was arguably a bit too hyped was when he was a prospect knocking people out.

I feel like Bakole is a great guy, dedicated aflete and probably community role model.
But also that he has some chinny chin chin issues.

Parker never KO's top HW's. He just doesn't.
To make matters worse Bakole is an obese pig so that means his 'brain' is protected by quite a lot of fat which helps resisting concussive effects.

Having said that, if he was prepared I can definitely see him KO'ing Parker because Joyce did and Joyce isn't good. And also old Chisora dropped Parker and that's weird.

But the fact is that Bakole was exposed and I look forward to him getting KO'd over and over again now.

Meh... Looking forward at the great community role model guy being repeatedly knocked out? Sounds amazing...

Bakole definitely can not be described as 'chinny'. Look at his previous fights, he took some good shots and he took many. His whole style is not built for someone chinny. Parker landed one of the weirdest freak shots I saw in a long time. A lucky punch if ever I saw one. To me he actually tried to land on the other side of the head. Granted I was surprised when Bakole went down but it happens and to me he is more than excused with being jet lagged and untrained. Pretty sure he's hitting his ceiling around the Top 5, but I don't see him getting knocked out easily.

Sidenote: Joyce was widely regarded scratching top 5 at the time (I would call that 'good') and always fought to drain the stamina from his opponents. The knockout against parker was more from exhaustion than from punching power. Pretty different from Bakoles approach.

I mean AJ bombed him out. I was just surprised to see Bakole’s punch placement and accuracy in combos. He was able to consistently connect with every punch in his combo while Johnson was shelling up, and was able to shorten his punches and catch Johnson trying to slip.
