Of course Benavidez's PPVs sell a lot in the US but Bivol and Beterbiev have higher purses than his. The news says that the two Russian boxers earned a purse of $ 10,000,000 each for the match on February 22. Then Turki Alalshikh said he was in favor of Bivol - Beterbiev 3 so I think it will go in that direction. In any case, as I said before, Benavidez holds the interim WBC and therefore it is his right to challenge the WBC world light heavyweight champion. If Bivol - Beterbiev 3 will be in the fall we will see what the WBC will do, if it will take the belt away from Bivol to give it to the winner of Benavidez vs TBA (as happened with the IBF heavyweight title immediately after Fury - Usyk)
At this time, already seeing Beterbiev and Bivol fight twice, you don't think a Benevidas fight would do better or as good as the Bivol/Beterbiev rubber match?
So probably 20 million dollars each if they fight a third time. Neither have had very many huge purses as we know I would be surprised not to see a 3rd.
Honestly the Opetaia fight doesn't sound that crazy to me anymore. Maybe Turki was right. Opetaia is another guy that looks like he frauds his height he looks maybe 6'1 to me and might even actually be the same exact height as Bivol.
Bivol decision. Benavidez has a very good and varied offense but doesn't seem to have carried his power up to 175. Don't see him hurting Bivol but he's skilled enough to make it competitive. Bivol 8-4 or maybe a clear 7-5 type decision.
Honestly I don't think Benavidez - Bivol can be as good and close as Bivol - Beterbiev. I like Benavidez (and I also root for him when he fights because he is a nice guy), he's a very good boxer and comes from some good victories that have made him grow and improve (even in the defensive phase) but I think Bivol and Beterbiev are on a higher level than him. I think that if they faced each other Bivol would find the right distance and the right time to land with his combinations and his jab, and that he would be able to contain Benavidez's pressing (he succeeded with Beterbiev who in my opinion is a better pressure fighter than Benavidez). In my opinion Bivol would win by a very large margin against Benavidez, taking at least 9-10 rounds. This is my opinion, obviously the ring could prove me wrong and other people can rightly have a different opinion.
They have not ordered it (and won't imo). Secondly this should be a near 50/50 either way so the 95% votes for Bivol is laughable. Benavidez TKO.
Bivol could not even beat Craig Richards by a very large margin. It was 7-5 on two cards. People just say things I swear. Benavidez has a ton of skills and attributes to beat Bivol. That is why he put it on him in sparring when he was only 21. Imagine now.
It's an interesting fight to me. More appealing than a 3rd fight between Bivol/Beterbiev. As far as it being an easy fight for Bivol, I can't say that wholeheartedly. I think the dog in DB will keep him tough throughout the entire fight. I favor Bivol, but wouldn't be surprised if DB does better than expected or even wins.
There's no way it should be in the US they will rob Bivol blind if he doesn't dominate the fight, as their thieving judges do to deep Soviet brothers damn near all the time over there, and he would already be giving away a huge weight advantage to someone who weighs like 13lbs more than him even though they've only recently moved up to 175. I'm just being real with you. Don't forget he schooled Clenelo's ass with ease but the judges only had him winning by a round. If Bivol beats Beterbiev in the rubber match Bivol vs Benavidez should be in Saudi
Richards did very well against Bivol and I always thought that that match convinced Canelo to want to face Bivol, thinking that he could do it, we know how it went. Since Richards, 2021, 4 years have passed, Bivol in addition to Canelo has also faced Ramirez and Beterbiev twice. So I struggle to think that the current light heavyweight world champion cannot read and handle Benavidez, but, as I said before, the ring always has the final say, and it could say that I am wrong. In any case, Benavidez has earned the opportunity to challenge the champion, so, whether it is Bivol or another name, it is right that David can fight with the WBC world title on the line.
