Crocker has to take the rematch really, no other choice......he can't go into a fight with Boots after that, if ever....it'd be the end of his career.

 

Marcus McDonnell outdid himself. His previous most terrible showing is when he gave Campbell Hatton the win over a Spanish bloke who had clearly won pretty much every round. This effort beats even that. Must have been given a particularly large brown envelope tonight.

 

Boots would tear him up way worse than Paddy. That'd just be Crocker cashing out.

 

You can't referee a fight from your sofa. Sometimes the fighters dont hear the bell. Sometimes in the exchanges there are already planned combos that are going to be fired with bell or without it because of muscular/training memory. That's it.

It is the referee's duty to jump in when the bell rings. This punch is late, but it is not THAT late to dictate a DQ. Punches like that happens every saturday night and maybe more than once. The problem here is that cocker was looking forward to getting out and the referee was looking forward to robbing the fight. That's the truth. If anyone should be DQ'd here is the referee for not doing his job. You are a refere, you hear the tap-tap saying that there are 10 seconds left, you immediately go close to the figthers to jump in, period, that's your job.

I hope Paddy Donovan takes this well and improves as a result. I don't want him to take it badly and turn off the sport, he is a genuinely good and entertaining boxer.
