2 judges scored round 9 for Davis, the round where he got knocked down

That's a huge points swing from 10-8 for Roach to 10-9 for Davis.

Roach didn't just get robbed. He got mugged by the boxing mafia.

Watching that towell wipe properly. No way did that clean anything out of his eyes that was bothering him. I think he was just dazed, panicked and took a knee, then tried to brush it off as something else because he pulled round quickly.

Roach landed a nice right hand and Davis went down on his knee a couple seconds later. Looks like a delayed reaction, which happens all the time in boxing. Davis used the grease excuse after the fight and the fools bought it. Even if there was grease (which is the lamest excuse I have ever heard and have no effect on the KD call), it was Roach who caused it.

It was a clear as day KD. Willis starts counting and then abandons the count, which is unprecedented.

 

Why didn’t the grease bother him at the start of the round ?

Forgetting any speculation about whether Davis was actually hurt or not and not taking into account whether the towel actually helped him in any way there are a couple of incontrovertible facts.

1. Davis made a bonehead move and took a knee.
2. Referee Steve Willis made a bonehead move and didn't rule it a knockdown.

It doesn't matter if Davis was hurt or not, that should have been ruled a knockdown. The judges would have scored the round 10-8 for Roach. If that had happened the scores would have been 115-112 and 114-113 twice. Roach would be the new champion.

I don't believe there was any home cooking or PBC stuff going on. I just believe the referee totally blew it and there should be an immediate rematch.

 

Yet another question that will never be answered.

 

Oh, there was definitely some PBC stuff riding on this. You talking about the cash cow for PBC. Look at the score cards. 2 judges had it 5 rounds to 1 going into the 7th.... Like Roach didn't outland Davis 3 of the first 6 rounds. Like Davis wasn't stumbled in the 6th round with a straight counter. Like Davis didn't have a first round where he landed JUST ONE PUNCH. At worse it should have been 4 rounds to 2. At worse.

 

I’ve been watching this sport for a long time and whether or not I was a fan of a fighter or not I always gave respect to the fighter,Tank has been the first to make me break my rule when you call yourself one of the best you don’t pull this crap, this is up there with no mas.

 

I remember when Floyd had to take a knee because he broke his hand on his opponents skull.

It was 10-8 then it should be 10-8 now.

Exactly. The only time you abandon a count is when you are waving it off. Willis should never ref again.

 

Fact of the matter is that should have been scored a KD and Roach awarded a 10-8 Round, winning the fight 114-113 on the cards. The ref blew it.
