There have been questions raised about Davis's chin in the past, and with his hitting the deck in last night's fight, these questions have become more salient in assessing his ability to take the punch of better fighters. Yeah, I know the corrupt ref didn't rule the KD, but this is irrelevant when assessing mandibular strength.

So what are the current assessments of Davis' chin? Glass, Shaky, Sturdy or Granite?

I find his mandibular fortitude currently to be of questionable integrity necessitating immediate further evaluation.

Do you mean in relation to champion caliber boxers? Or boxers in general? I think he has a 'sturdy' chin if comparing to other boxers, but between 'shaky' and 'sturdy' for elite boxers. I think he can take a punch decently well, but couldn't eat them all night.

Davis is packing glass no question. His chin may not be as fragile as Wilder's, but it's not that great either

How many times does this guy have to taste canvas before people wake up and recognize he just can't take a punch from decent fighters??

Gervonta's chin isn't actually that bad IMO. I think its better than average.

The knee was embarassing though - it should have been a KD which would have given Roach the win.

I’ve long suspected he has a Glass Jaw.

Was clear a jab hitting the eye reason why he took a knee a regular knockdown.

Yeah, it's pretty clear to anyone with eyes that Davis just doesn't take a punch very well.

He's a brutal KO waiting to happen. Look for him to take many canvas naps before all is said and done.

Tank is smaller than almost everyone he fights. It's not like he's fighting guys who are the same size as him. Roach looked bigger and he was coming up from 130. I think he chin is average. Considering him being at a size disadvantage I would say it's average.

Unbelievable that some denier or fanboy voted "granite." This will become even more ridiculous when Davis gets knocked the **** out!!

Tank chooses the weight class he fights, he's the A side, so if he's too small then he should move down. Considering he's been at 135 since 2019 and that he's fought as high as 140 it would seem Tank is comfortable at 135.

And there are plenty of guys that look small fight night including Canelo, Loma, Kambosos, Berinchyk, etc.

I’m not talking about comfort. I’m just looking at the size difference in most of his fights. He wins because of his skill and power. He looks like he doesn’t even rehydrate much. He’s a small fighter with elite qualities to make up for it. So when looking at his chin, I’m taking that into consideration. It’s obvious he’s not like Manny who would eat shots and come back for more. He fights cautiously when facing someone with power likely because his chin is average.
