The commission said they were trying to review the 9th round in real time but a "technical issue" made it so they could not see the instant replay at the time. https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_...eviewing-replay-process-knockdown-controversy Let's hope they just force a rematch and don't call it a no contest. The last thing that should happen is Tank getting back his perfect record.
Why did they need replay for? That **** was clear as day. Even Stevie Wonder saw it as it happened. I won't be surprised if these corrupt mother****ers will come up with some bogus decision that ends up benefiting Gervonta.
NYS Boxing rules: https://dos.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2018/09/19-nycrr-parts-206-214.pdf This content is protected According to the passage above, it's an official knockdown. This content is protected According to the passage above, the corner should have been penalized or the fighter disqualified. While cornerman they didn't enter the ring, part of the towel did enter the ring and that's an extension of the cornerman. Technically, he did enter the ring and it's a violation of NYSAC boxing rules. In all, it's at least a 2 point penalty for Davis. I think Roach is going to get a win if the NYSAC follows its own rules.
I seen a post elsewhere that pasted that supposedly the rules do allow for someone to take a knee for other circumstances and its the refs discretion if they call it a kd or not. Anyone know if theres any truth to that? Guess we will find out with this review.
I loathe gambling but I have a question out of curiosity If they paid out the draw results and the results of the fight changes over time, what happens? Seems like a messy situation on that end ( both online and offline)
You probably saw it on X, where a bunch of people circulated the same AI passage from Google AI. All the Tank fans are using it justify they knee. They are wrong and so is Google's AI slop. The only thing that matter are the NYSAC rules and Davis was clearly down. Willis started the count and he should have followed through.
I can not think of any rule where a fighter can take a knee to call time out. On top of that it was to wipe his face. How the **** does anyone justify that.
Roach was not given a fair shake of the sauce bottle. But of course nothing will happen and corruption will prevail.
I rewatched this. One of the most nakedly corrupt things I’ve seen. This is worse than Ali-Liston 2, because at least that seemed more incompetence than anything (and Ali was probably going to win that one anyway). This was clear unambiguous corruption. Robbing underdogs of their hard fought wins really bugs me.
