But I'm a little intrigue to see how Keith Thurman looks next week vs Brock Jarvis.

I was watching their interview/Face Off/media workout interaction/etc...... and clearly Thurman still knows how to talk the talk and sell a fight. I'll admit to not knowing a whole lot about Brock. I do plan on looking at some film to see what to expect in this fight. But I am loving the energy he's bringing. Brock is pretty much represented the average new boxing fan in calling Thurman an old man....And Thurman is determined to sit him down like a hard headed kid.

I honestly don't care about a bunch of corny jokes on Thurman regarding him being inactive. I get it, the man has fought once since the start of the pandemic. Injuries has put a clamp on what was a great career for a talented fighter. I have a friend whom was able to be present during part of Thurman's training after his most recent surgery and says that he is looking more and more fluid leading up to the holiday season.

I don't expect to see "One Time" as we knew him, but I hope to see a healthy, in shape, hungry Keith Thurman. Him on top of his game was good for the sport and gives us more options for some fights in a division or 2 where they are finding it hard to match people up.

Thurman at the top was truly a first-rate fighter, technically complete and beautiful to watch, it's a shame that he fought very little. After important victories with Garcia and Porter (very close fight), and another defense, lost against a phenomenon like Pacquiao (who in 2019 was 41 years old....). Now he returns to the ring after 3 years, he will probably win but I think that at a world level his time has now passed. Years ago I thought he would last at the top for a longer time, it's a shame.

And that's fair to suggest and believe. I think that is closer to reality than anything, but I would love to see him still have that ability to push even the up and coming talents into their greatness. I know he has stated that he's no "gatekeeper" which in fact he wasn't....but today, we can really trust the notion that he is still the man to beat, especially in a brand new division.

Now it is worth noting that outside of his injuries, Keith Thurman is a lot like B-Hop and Bud Crawford in the aspect of how he takes care of his body through nutrition, no smoking, no drinking, etc.... But Father Time is still a factor...major factor for someone who's had more surgeries than bouts in the last 7 years.

He didn't run from them..... He just didn't respect them as big fights in the moment given his status and what they had and/or accomplished.

Spence was a 154lb prospect who got rocked by Emmanuel Lartee, then he dropped down to welterweight in order to become a title contender. At the time Thurman was trying to get PPV stardom and titles. He wanted Floyd, Tim Bradley, Manny, etc.... Spence had accomplished nothing but was being put in the position to be an obstacle in a division Thurman was already in. Thurman said on a national televised fight with Spence sitting next to him that if Spence goes over there and beat Kell Brook for the title, then he is open for the fight happening. Even shook Spence's hand after the comment...... Spence had the fight less than a month later, and then Spence expressed that he wasn't interested in fighting Thurman anymore.

Crawford had become undisputed at 140lbs and had been calling out Thurman before his bout with Indongo. Again, Thurman wanted to share the ring with a big name, star quality opponent. Crawford at the time only had one PPV appearance. It was vs Viktor Postol.... That was a PPV card that only garnered 60K buys. This was also the 3rd weight class for Crawford and Thurman stated that he wasn't a "real welterweight". Said he needed to prove he can handle the weight jump. Crawford ended up stopping Horn, Benavidez, Khan, & then Kavaliauskas 4 months after Thurman suffered his first lost to Manny Pacquaio. At that point, Crawford held a title and Thurman didn't so, there was something to gain in the match up.

It's easy for a fan to claim a fighter is running or ducking or whatever another opponent, but you have to understand it's still a business as well. If a fighter puts in work and is looking to maximize on their return, why do they have to back pedal to please some random fans who can care less about the process, thus they obviously know nothing about that process. Both Crawford and Spence did the exact same thing to other fighters that Thurman did to them. It's has nothing to do with running from an opponent. It has to make business since. You aren't going to fight a single huge star in the sport throughout history that stops his process or legacy simply because some up and comer simply wants to start his stardom. He has to make business sense so that it can make 'cents'.......

In other words.....Apollo Creed giving Rocky Balboa a shot was not a true story..... Hollywood tries to stretch reality.....lol.

Father Time is undefeated and I think Thurman will be the same. I would be happy if she won this match and then announced her retirement, saying goodbye to her fans.

If you are going to converse with me, show respect to the fighters. I don't play into the ignorance of calling that man a woman for the sake of a personal vendetta. You've probably never met the man but willing to disrespect him as a male human being online because it's safe. That makes you seem more like a female than him.

Grow up buddy. You couldn't do what he do otherwise you'd of did it.

Name calling of a man who doesn't even know you exist......lol.... Wow. People get a WiFi connection and start feeling themselves too much.

So I'm guessing you've won a national title and/or a world championship eliminator. If you haven't, which I'm sure you have not......how are you in any position to call those fighters bums.......Bums don't accomplish any of that. Bums usually do all their fighting with a WiFi connection......

Thurman turned into that guy who only knows how to run his mouth and never fight. Hopefully this Jarvis kid sends him into retirement. Not a fan

I used to like Keith but his behavior around the Spence fight and since made me a lot less interested in his career. He gave Pacquiao a great and close fight but then did nothing with it. He is 36 but probably still has a few good years in him if he gets serious about fighting. He could still be an interesting opponent for the guys at 154

Given the state of their careers maybe a Spence vs Thurman loser goes home fight is a good idea

You are way too emotional if you think I'm anything other than calm replying to you.

Spell check mistake?......lol. Come on dude, if you are going to call another individual a female, you should at least man up to your own actions. There's a lot of ignorant people in the world, but I'm not one of them. I know how spell check works, and it's not going to change all of your pronoun genders for you.
