This is such a gorgeous fight. It's one amazing move after the other from both of them.

Bratton could have named himself "Young Ray Robinson" and it'll still fit on him

Amazing fighter. Very talented with a nice boxing style, fast hands and feet, and awesome counterpuncher. He was so fluid in his movement and probably the closest fighter to Sugar Ray Robinson stylistically.

His second fight against Kid Gavilan is still one of my favorite fights to watch. Some other very good fights he was in.

Bratton’s one round destruction of Bobby Dykes. Interesting to note that Bratton is only one of two fighters who had knocked Dykes out in his 23 losses. Even SRR couldn’t knock him out.

Bratton was @ his absolute peak for this fight & the Don Williams fight below - he combined the speed & mobility of his earlier LW days w/ some newfound power up @ WW. Later in his career (as he campaigned for a 3rd fight with Gavilan), he adopted a more flatfooted, power-oriented approach, which earned him some HL-reel KOs but also exposed him to a lot more punishment.

So he basically aged his style in reverse to Gavilan lmao

His one drawback seemed to be a certain fragility. He didn't have a glass jaw, but there may have been some deficit in the bone structure as he had his jaw broken 3 times.

Probably didnt have the medical help at the time neither.
Broken jaws today require aprox 12 months out such as a Victor Ortiz to name a noteable but even then mentwlly your broken by it.
Not Bratton, didnt have no mental scar from it and came back just 6 months later after the first break.
I dont think he ever probably fully healed from the first one which is why no 2 and 3 happened.
    Probbaly needed the money.

But one of my favs, one of the most esthetically pleasing fighters ever.
