Oscar Bonavene .. How Do You Like Him Against Older Foreman?

I don't like Oscar in that match-up. He would be right in front of George, right where George needs him, for as long as it lasted.

 

Yup. As Seamus said, you can't stand in front of Foreman. Even Old Foreman. Maybe Lewis or Liston or Tyson could stand in front of Old George and win. But not Ringo. Oscar was a good though not great puncher. And he will get stopped.

I would love to see Jerry Quarry vs old George.

 

Oscer might give him some problems at that stage. I would still favor George to win for stylistic reasons

 

George might take him to the cat house but there has to be a point where styles become less of a concern for Bonavena. As early as Cooney, we probably are not at that point and George still busts him up. By Schulz? That older old Foreman, maybe. Even by Briggs, still not great odds for Ringo, for what he could do but by that point, even considering styles, he has to be given a decent shot to overcome with his youth and toughness? I can't end that with a period, so maybe I don't...believe myself?

 

Myself? ....No, I still end it with a question mark. That's weird. Totally involuntary.

 

Ringo is far too brave to shamelessly run from an old man the way Tommy did…

 

Oscar is too crude to win this one.
No mobile enough, no fast enough and no skilled enough to outbox Old Man George.

However, I don't think Foreman stops him neither. Ringo's proven toughness and heart carries him up to the final bell.

Foreman wins a hard battled UD, and Ringo spends his paycheck in reconstructive facial surgery.

I think he spends his pay check on a PS 5

 

I think a P5 would be way too sophisticated and fast for Ringo.
I suspect he loses most games unless set to "newbie" mode.

 

Didn't he do that against George Chuvalo?

 

I like Ringo medium rare here over 12, well done over 15...
