My thoughts are that might make him the greatest since Moore/Charles, but not too knowledgeable on boxing history. His marquee wins would be Beterbiev, Canelo, Benavidez and Zurdo. That's three pound for pounders (according to The Ring) and a multi-division who went on to become unified champ the weight above.

My full history knowledge isn’t good sufficient, but it has to make him top 3. I can’t imagine any top 5 list he isn’t on.

Bivol has been my favorite fighter of the current era, but LHW is stacked af. Last time I tried to rank a top 20, I ended up w/ this list,

    1. Charles
    2. Langford
    3. Moore
    4. Spinks
    5. Tunney
    6. Foster
    7. Conn
    8. Greb
    9. Loughran
    10. Fitz
    11. Bivins
    12. H. Johnson
    13. Norfolk
    14. RJJ
    15. Qawi
    16. Saad
    17. Delaney
    18. Galindez
    19. Gibbons
    20. Burns

... which doesn't even include other prospective candidates like Jack Dillon or John Henry Lewis.

I wouldn't argue against ranking Bivol anywhere in the bottom 5 of a top 20, but not sure if or how high he'd rank above that. I'd be more inclined to rank him higher if he had decisively separated himself from Beter instead of just splitting 2 indecisive battles w/ him.

Its not possible for Bivol to break into the early 20th century group of ATGs because they've got HW feats and accomplished too much crazy stuff. Bivol going like 30-1 wouldn't really register. The 90s/00s group is as close as its going to get and its very unlikely Bivols era is anywhere near as respected as that one. What can say Benavidez and friends do to change that if Bivol beats them? I don't know.

Beterbiev before fighting Bivol had a unique ATG case with the 100% KO rate and the unique power for a modern 175er. You couldn't count him out against anyone. Bivol doesn't have that or anything that makes him stand out amongst the dozens and dozens of legendary LHWs.

I don't count achievements outside of the division for my divisional list.

Serious question, aside from being undefeated, what argument does Bivol have over Maxim?

Bivins is better than Beterbiev, Sheppard is better than Smith Jr, Robinson is better than Canelo (although probably not a better win), Lesnevich is better than Ramirez, Mills is better than Arthur and Patterson is better than Pascal.

Maxim is my 19th greatest LHW.

    Hi Noel.
Glad to see your name on the forum as always, I did not vote, moreover I find it difficult to rate modern or even fairly modern boxers, and I don't know why, honestly when talk comes up about how great ( for example ) Canelo is, or Bivol, or Beterbiev, Crawford, Usyk, I close down, despite following boxing for 55 years reading anything I lay my hands on, when it comes to evaluating todays crop I have no idea, just wondering if there needs to be some distance between when said fighters retire to get a more balanced stance on where they should rightly be placed , does that makes sense ?
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.
    Mike.
