I don't know why but I have a feeling Usyk will duck Parker and will retire without facing him. If Joyce somehow manages to beat Hrgovic, I think we can see Parker spend 2025 avenging his defeats against AJ, Joyce and Whyte and picking up a fractured title towards the end of the year. What do people think? Parker can end up with an insane resume but still somehow miss out on the Usyk fight.
Parker's next fight should be Usyk, he has earned it, and I give him a good chance of pulling it off if they ever do fight.
Whyte is a spent force at this point and if Joyce can't run the clock back against Hrgovic then I doubt we will see any of these fights. Parker v Joyce 2 would be a great fight. After that it's a coin toss between AJ, Kabayel or rematch Bakole with a full camp. Given the type of fighter Parker is I can see the latter being a possibility.
Statistically if Parker keeps fighting the quality of opposition he has been fighting lately he is going to lose sometime during his next 3 fights. That’s not a knock on Parker but that’s just how those things tend to workout. That’s why I hate it for him to get the runaround. He has earned that title shot. Dubois should honor their agreement and fight Parker next. And if Usyk wants to fight the best in the division then Parker is definitely one of them. Best case scenario is he fights Dubois next. Beats Dubois. Then defends against AJ. Beats AJ. Then fights Usyk and beats Usyk.
Usyk vs Kabayel would be a good fight. We would finally see someone new challenging for a belt. Winner of that vs the winner of Dubois vs Parker would be the most fair to all. But this is boxing, so I doubt this will happen.
If Usyk is fighting Dubois now, Parker vs Kabayel would be a great option. But I doubt they will make it. Rematch with AJ sounds good too. But on top of that? What else is for Parker now? Hrgović if he beats Joyce?
Parker showed us the move in his last fight: Just hit the other guy on the top of his head. Worked like a charm. One writer observed that Bakole "went down in installments." I'll be surprised if this doesn't give a new meaning to the term "headhunting" in boxing.
I don't think Parker's new "style" is a problem for Usyk. Parker's "style" is to stay out of range, attack, get back out of range. Worked vs Wilder and Zhang. Bakole...whatever that was. Usyk is a master of space and angles and is much quicker than Parker. I don't think Parker can hang out on the fringes and dictate when we wants to attack like he's been doing. Usyk is going to apply intelligent pressure, which Parker has never been very good at countering. As for Parker, if Usyk is going to fight Dubois, he needs to stay busy and hope for the Usyk fight on the back end. I would say Kabayel, but for some reason, nobody seems interested in making that fight. Plus, it's risky for both. Maybe the Joyce/Hrgovic winner would be good, or feed him Dip**** Whyte so we can be done with him.
