I'll believe it when I see it.

Maybe they will make the Dychko fight.

That would be a good fight, both talented but their careers are going downhill, Jalolov should have offered himself for the Joyce fight...

How on earth do you come to that conclusion?

It's debatable whether he's even beaten a recognisable journeyman as a pro... I know the divisions thin and all that but.

Jalolov is a soon to be 31 year old prospect with admittedly great amateur pedigree and pretty much nothing beyond that

The problem is we've seen fighters with great amateur pedigree fall very short in the pro ranks - sure, Jalolov is different, he'd be fine, etc etc but we hear that every time a promising amateur steps up, especially if they win at the Olympics... They always get hyped hard and plenty of them don't get anywhere near the top (Tony Yoka anyone?).

I'll continue assuming Jalolov knows something we don't and is afraid of the pros until he proves otherwise.

Even if he fights, I'd bet money it'd be an absolute nobody - forget top 50, I'd be amazed if it's top 250.

Jalolov just doesn't want to fight - he's an amateur through and through, it's all he's ever shown he cares about.

Any officially pro bouts are nothing more than a sideshow for him - until he shows he's interested, we shouldn't be interested in him, IMHO.

 What are the odds that Jalolov just goes for a third gold medal?

Heard he has a very questionnable stamina therefore fighting 10 or 12 rounds seems compromised for him.

Jalolov could be stopped as soon as he takes a big step forward, it's easier to win gold when you have professional experience, Jalolov is definitely not one of the greatest amateur heavyweights ever...

Lets hope he enters the ring this time.

Kossobutzky would be a great option for an opponent.

Big Mak, C. Martin, Larduet, Ortiz, McKean, Helenius, Zakhozhyi, Charr, J. Milton, Dacres, S. Shaw, Hysa, Conto, are all good options for this date.

Jalolov made a terrible mistake signing with Top Rank.

They have a history of ruining the careers of talented East European and Central Asian boxers with meaningless opposition and inactivity, while doing a great job of promoting American-born boxers.

Hopefully against someone in the top 30-40 even. And I'm not confident.

My guess is that it will be some part-timer that is ranked 127th on BoxRec.

Top Rank will not pay for a decent, meaningful opponent for Jalolov.

    Tomato cans come cheap.

Good point. "Tomato cans come cheap" is a great quote.

Don't know why but Stephen Shaw came to the top of my head - he is like top 40 ish and is with Top Rank I think?

He's definitely better than the cans Jalolov has been fighting. But how much does he cost?

Actually TR is great at building prospects and young careers. They usually run into issues once the talent reaches the world level.
Janibek being the perfect example of this.
