Bowe had poor defense, but even with that, he was faster and more mobile. He’d land on Foreman at will—it wouldn’t be pretty.
Bowe batters the veteran to defeat in a fight that would be very uncomfortable to watch. Think of George's face during the Alex Stewart fight and imagine it swelling up even quicker. Foreman would keep coming for as long as the fight lasted but the referee steps between them before ten rounds are out.
No, its no easy win for Bowe. He crumbled twice against Golota and retired. Foreman is a far tougher man than Bowe. George has a good shot.
Bowe should be favored and if he plays it safe he wins easy. But I think Bowes size and greater power could be a double edged sword. While Holyfields response to Foremans power was to respect the threat Bowe might not do the same and go the Ron Lyle route. Against Foreman the main reason Moorer lost is Moorers success lulled him into a false sense of security while Holyfield got it knocked out of him. Bowe is much better equipped to knock Foreman out but that might entice him to actually try it.
Its only a tough call as far as Bowe being too easy to hit. I do see him having overall too much youthful vigor for the Big one. UD for Bowe, Foreman head swole like a pumpkin.
Foreman beats him down over that final 4 rounds but Bowe holds on to squeak out a decision and lose his career.
This. Bowe would be like a rich man's Moorer, with superior punching power. But if Bowe gets cocky, then he joins Moorer in lalaland.
The trouble with this theoretical matchup is which version of each fighter are we taking about? 90-92 Foreman or later 90s Foreman? The Foreman from Holyfield, Cooney, Rodriquez or the one from Shulz/Grimsley? And Bowe from 1992/1993 was far superior to 1996 Bowe. Generally speaking Bowe should win, but he liked to stay in the trenches and couldn’t block a left hook to save his life. I don’t see him moving the way Morrison or Stewart did. Not an easy win for Bowe IMO.
