Fighters who would have benefited from being more agressive

Whitaker liked to give/clown away the final rounds of fights & allowed them to end up closer than they otherwise could've/should've been.

 

Osssie Ocasio at Cruiserweight.

 

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and Juan Laporte are the two poster boys for it. Eddie had huge two handed power, a solid chin and he could put his punches together when he wanted to. He was one of the best counter punchers in boxing, more aggressive footwork and intent would have opened up some nice opportunities. He needed to take a page out of Sanchez' book. Laporte's well explained already.

Betulio Gonzalez lost his title in 1974 because he simply wouldn't throw punches. He had a good jab that he rarely doubled up on and often neglected completely. Some of his fights he just slowly advances towards his opponent, not throwing but just waiting for them to do something.

Good fighter, but extremely frustrating.

It's odd, because he could be pretty aggressive at heavy. I remember him hurting a green Lennox Lewis in their match, and he pushed Dokes all around the ring in their first fight, too.

 

Right..the reason he wasnt as good at Heavy, I think, was his size. At Cruiserweight on the other hand, he looked the right size.

Dmitry Bivol even at times, he definitely could’ve stopped the likes on Craig Richard’s and Lyndon Arthur had he stepped on the gas.
I guess he’s been aggressive enough to get the wins, so that’s all that matters, but he could’ve gotten more stoppages had he stepped on the gas in certain fights, and maybe him not being aggressive enough and letting his hand go more against Beterbiev in the first fight cost him that fight.
