Oh come on now, how long would Wlad's reign have lasted if he had faced the young Muhammad Ali in his
    second title defence ?

It can be 10-20 Ib is pretty significant. Also there's no evidence that Williams punched harder then Brewster his KOs were against guys mostly under 220 lbs, smaller than today’s heavies. Brewster’s power held up against a super heavyweights. And either way neither man punched harder then Wlad one of the hardest hitting heavyweights ever

His long reach for that height made him and still makes him a unique threat and is probably the reason for his freakish power. I don't know how to explain why a shorter guy with an 85 inch reach is more dangerous than Tyson Fury or Carnera with one but I'm pretty sure it is. Long reach certainly helps with the power jab.

In his final fight Liston knocked out Chuck Wepner. Thats the oldest worst version of Liston. I don't see a reason he couldn't overwhelm the HWs of today. The reason hes not more tested against giants were there weren't more of them.

Beterbievs reach is 12 inches shorter.

When you look at the dimensions of Sonny Liston it's pretty obvious that he could have comfortably added
    on that 10-20lbs.
You correctly state that Wlad was one of the hardest punching heavyweights in history, and of course you're
comparing his power to that of Brewster and Williams.
But while we're discussing the relative punching power of these heavyweights it should be noted that it is
very likely that Liston punched even harder than Wlad.

Plenty of evidence is available.Liston knocked out 7 of Wayne Bethea's teeth with one punch. An elderly
way past-prime Sonny Liston broke Chuck Wepner's cheekbone and nose, and put 73 stitches on him.
Not denying Wlad was a tremendous puncher, but If I had to bet who was the harder puncher I would put
    my money on Liston.

Ernie Terrell clinching, rabbit punching and walking around with his gloves up at something like 190lbs with very little skill is not any stand in for Wlad at all AGREED… they were both tall one of them knew how to fight doe… Have you watched the fight? That’s not evidence of anything, terrible bout. Wlad would kill Ali IMO.

That isn't "likely" at all, though.

    Based on what?

The majority of Liston's 39 KOs came against guys who weighed 200 pounds or less.

Seven or eight guys who weighed less than 200 pounds went the distance with Liston. Two guys who weighed less than 200 pounds beat him ... and one knocked him cold.

Wlad Klitschko scored 53 KOs (far more than Liston), and nobody Wlad fought (in roughly 70 pro fights) weighed 200 pounds or less.

Let me repeat that. NOBODY Wlad fought weighed less than 200 pounds. Certainly nobody who beat him or knocked him cold.

So it's VERY LIKELY, almost assuredly likely, Wlad punched harder than Liston.

There's nothing to suggest Liston punched harder.

To be honest it sounds like a typical Wlad bout.
    Wlad kill Ali ?
After 2 rounds with Ali Wlad would be begging to go in against Tyson Fury again.
