I agree. Foreman shouldn’t be allowed to shove Canelo.

Nor should he be allowed to used his formidable jab OR punch Canelo hard otherwise with either hand - Foreman got away with that **** far too often during his career.

Wasn't canelo too small for LtHW Bivol (Despite wining a belt there already), but he'll beat a top ATG HW? Ok....

So I came onto this thread because I was curious why Yuri Foreman was being matched up in a hypothetical because there's just no way the TS meant George (one of the greatest HW's ever) Foreman........................and he really meant George Foreman

    Isn’t that the truth?

And they’re always littered with and fattened up by replies like “Are you crazy?” and “Are you on drugs?”

In fairness, Yuri and Canelo do have two common opponents, Cotto and Lara. I would say, with a healthy knee Yuri has the potential of giving Canelo fits for as long as it lasts. The hand speed could definitely be a problem, but the power difference between the two is vast. But stylistically, I mean, you look at Yuri's performance against Daniel Santos, for example, could Canelo deal with all that frenetic movement? I don't know.

The problem Yuri had against Lara was that he fought him on a Friday Night. That's Shabbat for the boxing Rabbi. He should never have took the peydey there, I mean the man's gotta make a living but as a Rabbi he should have taken a principled stance, and demanded it be on a Saturday Night or no Fight. Against Canelo it's gotta be on a Saturday Night, after sundown. Then maybe he'd have a chance. :deal:

Reminds of one of my early threads comparing Canelo`s power to Mike Tyson`s, helping cultivate my autistic reputation on this forum back then! :hang

In fairness he didn't say what version of George he would be fighting. Are we talking about 1974 Rumble in the Jungle Big George, are we talking 1994 Moorer Foreman, or current-day Foreman? George Foreman is 76 years old today. If Big George came out of retirement today and fought Prime Canelo, what do you think would happen. If Jake Paul can embarrass a 58 year old Mike Tyson, what do you think would happen to present day George? Lets not forget this forum overwhelmingly thought that Jake Paul, despite the massive size difference, would have no chance against Canelo, and were mocking that fight. Really ask yourself, how young would George Foreman need to be to beat Prime Canelo?

George's biggest weapon was his power. Canelo has one of the most granite chins of all-time. And Prime Canelo has great defense, elusive upper body movement. In many ways, he's all wrong for George. Obviously the size difference is massive, you try to imagine it, would George come out with the cross arm blocking style he used in the 90s, or would he just walk forward like a Mummy as Ali coined.

I could see a lot of bicep bombs and body shots from Canelo. But if George landed the right hand that dropped Moorer, I don't know, could Canelo take that? Would he even be able to land a shot like that on Canelo? I don't know, I really don't. I never really thought about it, but here we are.

Nobody not named Usyk, or maybe Fury in shape could beat Foreman

Certainly nobody under cruiserweight. I wouldn't favour Jai either, of course not. I don't know if I favour usyk and Fury, but they could beat him. Joshua, parker, Dubois etc all fall short

Prime Foreman would bury Usyk and Fury.

You think Canelo would be walking down George Foreman and throwing bicep bombs on him? You don't realize this is a troll thread?

Foreman was a good boxer, his footwork and technique were good but not great in my opinion and he didn't have much power. In my opinion he was behind the best in the category, he won the world title against Santos who was clearly declining and in the last match of his career and lost it in the first defense against Cotto, in which he also injured his knee. I don't think Foreman could have resisted the constant pressure of Canelo, who with his shots in my opinion would have demolished him as the rounds went by, so I say Canelo by stoppage after six rounds.
