It’s laughable to suggest a win over a developing and tiny Marcel is better than moving up to beat Pacquiao and Canelo.

Resume does not omit screw ups.

Next time, just read the original post and respond to it. You’re naming a bunch of guys who we’ve already discussed at some point, if not right out the gate.

Duran has SEVENTY KNOCKOUTS because he fought endless fodder before stepping up and in between world class opponents.

Nah, that's a well documented myth. Both Leonard and Dundee said that Ray was the bigger, stronger, faster and younger fighter, and that the plan was not for Ray to fight a mostly defensive fight, but for him to inevitably beat Duran using those attributes.

It's even shown in the fight. Leonard uses distance superbly to stay just out of line for Duran's shots and is looking for counters in the first round, then Duran feints and lays a trap in the second one that ends up rocking Leonard, having him mostly on survival mode until round 4. Leonard just could not beat Duran, because Duran was crafty enough to inevitably always catch him if he tried fighting by clever counter-punching. And obviously he could not beat Duran at his own game of infighting and aggressive leading (darn it if he didn't put up a hell of a fight trying to, though).

Whatever you want to believe for No Mas, it was clear that Duran was not in the condition he was in Montreal, without excusing his unprofessionalism. In the third fight, Duran's declined legs had forced him to change his style into a far less aggressive one, which just doesn't work with a guy SRL (himself also past it, to be fair). Prime for prime, when both were at their best condition, Duran was just better.

Hearns, Hagler, and Benitez would disagree.

Does it matter? Hearns would destroy Duran either way.

There's a thing called size, and it matters. I assume most women have told you this.

Duran was big enough to beat Leonard at their respective best, and Leonard was big enough to beat Hearns. Duran was not big enough to beat Hearns. It's really that simple.

Hagler himself said that Duran is the best he ever fought, btw. So your first post is already debunked.

Indeed. Floyd is big enough to beat Canelo, but not big enough to beat GGG.

Floyd being ranked ahead of Duran doesn’t hinge on a GGG fight.
