Lots of escaped mental patients here. Kind of crowded, in fact. I think the Flat Earth thread attracts them.

How about we keep running it back until you get the result you want? Usyk is the superior fighter, deal with it.

Way to obsfucate from the fact that he injured his ankle, which caused the fight to be postponed. To review, the drug use and depression occurred after the injury and the postponement, not before, which as a timeline you seem to be having trouble grasping. I can't say I'm surprised at this sort of thing from you, which is why it's hard to follow your reasoning or logic as it pertains to anything.

The fights were competitive but not close. Fury now out of time for a third bite of the cherry.. had he wanted it, he would’ve lined up a comeback fight with a Kabayel level opponent. Instead he retired… back of the queue now on the back of arguably three straight defeats.

How some boxing fans, casual or otherwise, can genuinely hate on Usyk simply mistifies me personally, squire. It really does. They not only try to split negative imaginary hairs, they'll keep doubling down, going right down on to the obsessive atom splitting level...it's really not a normal, rational healthy mindset to have.

I mean, What more can you realistically ask of any professional sportsman?. How much more can Usyk give of himself, and how can he improve on his nigh-on impeccable character, both inside and outside of the ring?.

Weirdly, I think it just boils down to some people hating on a genuine sporting winner. More weirdly so if his performances have been generally outstanding in a very long career. The odds have been stacked against him many times too. No one's done Usyk any favours.

I personally see Usyk, as the generally speaking, all round model textbook pugilist. He's set and personally adheres to a very high bar, for me. He's defo the full package...

I'm not saying everyone should unconditionally absolutely love him, but I am saying people really shouldn't hate on him like some folk do....

Our special someone believes he's "spinning". And not just in here as it pertains to the physical and mental state of one Tyson Fury, but also just "generally" as in spinning round and round, at all times, endlessly, for all eternity. So, forgive him for sometimes being a little eccentric. To be spinning as fast and as consistently as he thinks he is, one would have to be sure to lower the bar of expectations considerably.

I agree with all that. I like Usyk and have never engaged in any hate or animosity towards him whatsoever. I would also add that I have a similar view to that as it pertains to Canelo.

Very well said, squire and friend. The way Usyk has conducted himself and his career has been exemplary. Immaculate, in fact. If it was just a case of him being one of the most humble, respectful, honourable classy and likeable sportsmen of all time (not just boxers of all time)outside of the ring it would be more understandable

But his conduct inside the ring and the way he has gone about conducting his career seeking out the best in their backyards in their primes on a deck stacked against him time and time again, ducking no man and with zero deck-stacking or trying to wangle advantages in his favour, be they fair or unfair, and also whilst being one of the most honourable and cleanest fighters in the ring with zero use of dirty tactics makes the hate even more reprehensible. He's literally been the model pro and even when he has been severely provoked by very classless behaviour he has been very gracious and forgiving when many others would not have.

Fury went nuts, apparently. You ought to be able to relate.

How could I relate to that? I've never had an ankle injury that caused me to pull out of a high profile fight and disappoint tons of fans in the process. Fury has a very high profile and has to deal with living up to the high expectations that he has set for himself.

To even compare Tyson Fury and his life to a ordinary boxing fan on a message board like myself is the epitome of projection and delusion.

The earth I am standing on is flat. The Earth is not flat.

People say that Flat-Earthers are bonkers but so is anyone who tries to tell me the earth I'm standing on is spherical

Very fair and balanced approach that. Nearly identical to my view on the subject.

I can't understand the obsessiveness over these 2. They aren't even top 10 heavyweights and will be a footnote in the years to come

Usyk was better and that's that
