Wet night in Melbourne for the big grand final replay. Hopefully there really is a Storm brewing.

Pretty good value for a team after its 5th premiership in a row and 6th grand final appearance in a row.

Opetaia will return to the ring on May 13, back to the Gold Coast in Australia, when he faces undefeated contender Claudio Squeo (17-0, 9 KOs). Squeo is IBF no 14 .

Everybody looks ready on the Sydney card.

Neekz looks ready, built like a tank.Hope she doesnt allow Hughes another fast start.

Brown has talked a good game and is undefeated and a amateur world champion but I doubt she gets past Skye.In fact she might make Skye look at her best.
Khataev has that Makhumodov scary look about him.
Kambosos already taking that "he hit the Kambosos lottery" type of money talk.Fair since he is already set for life,he made with Haney life changing money.

One other thing I found interesting as I watched the press conference a couple of days ago, Kambosos manager was asked why George hasn't fought in Sydney in some time, and he made the comment that the Australian government helped fund other cards around Australia and that this card would have to rely on ticket sales from the public. Is this a common thing in Australia for the government to pay for boxing events?

A state government will kick in funding for an event when they think hosting the event will attract interstate (& potentially international) visitors who will spend more money than the amount they kick in to put on the event. There's not many fights that will do that. Jeff Horn v Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane was one. George Kambosos has had several of his fights underpinned by state government funding including his two fights with Devin Haney in Melbourne & his fight with Loma in Perth. Not sure any of those fights generated the return on investment that the state governments were looking for or George would still be fighting there. When it comes to boxing, some state governments are more savvy than others about which events will sell. New South Wales & Queensland are unlikely to hand out big money to a boxing event unless it's a banger with a popular Australian fighter in one corner. Fast Eddie has the fighters who when matched with the right opponents could potentially access state government money but he's probably going to have to secure Heavyweight world title shots for the likes of Jai Opetaia, Justis Huni & Teremoana in order to get it. Those are the caliber of fights that would justify the outlay of state government money.

george kambosos just doesn't have much of a following.
it's very hard to like him imo and it appears i'm not alone in thinking that.
