Was thinking to myself that a true pressure fighter is probably the rarest style practiced by modern fighters. The vast majority of fighters out there today try and become pure boxers.

Let's talk about some of the top pressure fighters in modern boxing. Feel free to post videos and include more fighters too.

    -Artur Beterbiev
    -Roman Gonzalez
    -Prime Gennady Golovkin
    -Young Marco Antonio Barrera
    -Paul Williams
    -Antonio Margarito
    -Jose Luis Castillo
    -Ricky Hatton
    -Subriel Matias
    -Kostya Tszyu

    Pacquaio, Usyk and Calzaghe

Not pressure fighters like above, but these guys can be relentless with their stamina, speed, angles and all coming from a southpaw style. A nightmare to fight these guys and can bring relentless pressure when required, especially manny

Canelo Alvarez deserves to be on that list.

Sort of, but not really IMO. Pacquiao was more a puncher and brawler than a pressure fighter. His style was to move in and then retreat back out to reload. A pressure fighter doesn't let you breathe.

Usyk and Calzaghe were more volume punchers than pressure fighters.

Yes I know what pressure fighter means, but that is still a form of pressure. I know you are referring to the Rocky Balboa, Marciano style, but that style of volume is still bringing extreme pressure

I imagine many of Manny's opponents were struggling to breathe,

Was thinking more outside the box

Obviously the thread is modern, but let's give Duran, Chavez Sr, Marciano and Frazier their due
    Oh and Lamotta

Out of the fighters listed Chocolatito is probably the very top when it comes to being the best, most skilled pressure fighter IMO. Barrera was pretty similar to Chocolatito early in his career before he became more of a boxer-puncher.

I would also add Vasyl Lomachenko as well. I don't classify him as a pressure fighter but he does excel at coming forward using his speed and angles in a southpaw stance.

    Yes him too for sure
Obviously my meaning was not a pressure fighter in the classical sense like a Chavez Sr, but these guys have a style that puts fighter under immense pressure, opening holes while punishing mistakes

Pressure fighting is Tyson Fury and Usyk's natural state despite their lack of power and great boxing ability to outbox. They do have the stamina for it.

I want to name 3 really exciting pressure fighters, not among the best but definitely very good boxers. Matthysse, Provodnikov and Juan Diaz, all three are in the Ring Magazine's roll of honor for the F.O.T.Y Marquez - Diaz, Matthysse - Provodnikov and Matthysse - Molina were three great slugfests.
