Floyd by split decision. Floyd out boxes Roberto fairly easily but survives a few scary moments. One judge gives Duran the nod because he likes Durans aggression.

People forget how good Floyd was at 135.

Dejesus didn't move that much he was in the pocket alot and yes he did win but Duran adjusted and beat him twice after.
And Esteban is a completely different boxer then Mayweather and also hit much harder.
It can and is argued that Castillo beat Mayweather the first time can it not?
So go ahead and list all the MOVERS that beat Duran at lightweight because you make it seem like Duran lost to multiple people at lightweight.

I see an issue with pinpointing the closest fight of a fighter’s 15+ year career to form analysis, particularly when the fighter beat the same guy fairly easily in the immediate rematch.

    It’s Floyd, not Stevie Johnston.

Again name me the OTHER boxers that defeated Duran at Lightweight.
You cannot because they simply do not exist.
Your pointing out losses that occurred at different weight classes.

Defending NoNeck here a bit, I think when we hold onto a very strict amount of time a “prime” we limit ourselves… for the lowest hanging fruit example, there were clues to beating 60s Ali (Louis pointed out a VERY similar plan Norton used) but if you point out that he struggled in some ways and apply it to another fighter “well he won, he was clowning etc” and in the 70s any evidence is dismissed as “past his best” etc so it doesn’t count you build an argument with all the evidence and I think unless you’re talking about a dead shot version there is stuff to learn but for the record Duran batters Floyd IMO.

Duran had what 119 fights and fought everyone and every single style that is almost possible to fight.
No fighter that fought that much is going to go unbeaten in ANY combat sport.
Your talking about a boxer in Mayweather who had what FIVE lightweight bouts two against the same boxer against Duran who had what 6 times that amount? Against many styles?
I mean my god Mayweather wasn't really that active compared to a Duran who was fighting boxers like SAOUL MAMBY in between title fights.

Erase all of the bums off his record and get back to me. His record against world class opponents is worse than Floyd's (in number of opponents beaten, not just win percentage) and I already did the thread showing that.

Duran by a tough decision. I think Mayweather would be too defensively minded and mostly just stay away, Duran would be the busier and better puncher.

It would be close, but I can't imagine any boos during the decision.

I think Duran batters Mayweather that wasn’t the point of my post.

I see Duran outboxing Floyd, and breaking down that May-modified Philly Shell with looping shots, body attack and uppercuts. He outtimes May and wins 9-6.

Gatti was not in his prime. Cotto wasn't either. Corrales is and it is a good win but he looked so weight drained in that fight I can't overlook that.
Hatton was a good win and Pac was WAY removed from his prime and it showed.

So lets see you have Hatton and Diego. And then you have Leonard. Wonder which one is more of an impressive win.
