I'm been invested in Surov future for over a year, there is no greater Amateur talent at heavyweight in the current times. He has the same dimensions as Usyk 6'3, 78" and is already rated #2 amateur. He is a heavyweight version of Karen Chukhadzhian with better offense

I do not follow the amateur scene particularly closely. I became acquainted with Jalolov and Mullajonov because of this forum.

I have watched a few highlights of Surov but not that much. School me on him. What are his strenghts? Power? Speed? Strong fundamentals?

Im high af right now but let me think, incredible athleticism, good lateral movement, steps into his jab well, in and out, fights well on the inside, has an Ali esq counter right and his best punches are his one-twos. He has obvious Soviet style

thanks. I saw his fight vs Jalolov and he was really struggling to cut the ring vs the big Uzbek. Hopefully that improves over time.

Kunkabayev retired after being eliminated in the first round of the Paris Olympics. You can find this out by searching the news with Kunkabayev's Kazakh name. The Kazakh boxing team only won a silver medal in the Paris Olympics, so they fired the coach and replaced him with a new coaching team. The current main player of the Kazakh national team 92kg+ is Aibek Oralbay, the twin brother of Nurbek.

He was only 19 and better than Jalolov at 19 by a good margin. In my view, Russian is the real deal. When he is 23 and develops into a man, you are talking about a real force. His footwork and foot speed are special, and he has fast accurate hands and developing power.

He will medal at the World Amateur Championship in May 2025 .
