A great HOF career he's had. Whoever he's fighting this year I'll definitely be tuning in. Boxing will surely miss him once he's finally done. It's been a pleasure watching him fight. War Choco
I hope he fits Bam in there for a passing of the torch fight. They are friends so Bam won’t embarrass him, and it’s fitting that he should be sent off by another future hof’er.
Bam already had his passing of the torch fight, there is no need for this. Gonzales is basically retired at this point, while Bam is on many peoples P4P lists. It would be a pointless mismatch, and Gonzales deserves better.
Bam already had two passing of the torch fights against the guys that beat Choco (SSR, Estrada). There’s really no point for Bam to fight Choco. He needs to focus on fighting someone closer to his prime like Martinez or Nakatani.
Yeah, but I don’t want to see choco go quietly into the night. His last fight should be an event. Go out like the warrior he is. Bam likes and respects him, he won’t do anything to tarnish his image or bully him. And Bam is the most worthy opponent for choco to reach for the brass ring against one last time. It’s just how the order of things should be in the sport.
With all the wars that Choco has gone through he deserves to retire on a high note. Bam is already getting the Terry Norris treatment and should be fighting guys closer to their prime. As a fan of both Choco and Bam I'd rather see Choco grab one more title at BW, a farewell fight in his home country and then walk into the sunset with his head up high and health intact. Bam gains nothing from fighting an old Choco and would only add more fuel to his critics. Better for him to face other top fighters in his path that would further enhance his legacy.
I want to see Choco go for a title in a fifth weight class and for me it would be against Tsutsumi (it would be a war) in Japan. Then a farewell fight in his home country of Nicaragua.
One of the best to ever lace them up. A warrior through and through and one of the most tenacious, talented, and gutsy fighters you'll ever see. However he chooses to wrap up his career, he can rest assured in the knowledge that it has been a great one.
