All very good points. One of my frustrations with hypothetical matchups is unless you have very comparable antecedents, it’s hard to be confident. You know very well how much difference good feet makes when it comes to an opponent being able to impose their will or fighting style. You may well be right, but I’d be hesitant to consider it a forgone conclusion. I doubt a prime Tyson is going to push a prime usyk to the ropes and just tee off. But again all hypothetical perhaps he could.
No one is unbeatable. All of sudden Uysk could also lose one or both of his next 2 fights we never know. Then if that happens people will claim Uysk wasn't that good in first place.
In your opinion I disagree but to say he could never lose on points is a bit silly when Usyk has fought no one on the level of either of those fighters so it's a big assumption on your part. A prime Lewis, Holmes, are light years ahead of Joshua and a 36 year old Fury.
I wonder how it goes with Usyk and Okolie, the pure boxer and the anti boxer, if styles make fights then what does okolies style take away. Keep the Bridget weight king Okolie away from the division at all costs, or feed him to Dubois, actually let Chisora smash him. Anyway Lewis beats Usyk, Tyson, Forman (rip), Ali and Frazier to, but I have to say that all those fighters were from a stronger era where they were getting pushed to their peak by their rivals, Usyk hasn’t been given the same opportunity due to the weak era he’s been in, anyone who knows boxing knows that’s true, look at the ‘holy trinity’ or the ‘four kings’ the levels they reached as individuals and collectively as part of their era was not just down to their talent but the talent of the opponents they were up against. This is not just true of boxing but of all sports to varying degrees. So do you think that the likes of Ali, Frazier, Tyson or Lewis would have been the fighters they were if they were competing against the current level of heavyweights? I don’t think they would. You can only beat what’s in front of you and Usyk has done that at every level.
Usyk was practicing Judo and wrestling before he was a boxer, which is why Fury couldn't lean on him. Okolie will be murdered.
So because Usyk beat 2 giants, that means something vs a Prime Tyson? That does not follow at all. Beating Two lumbering past prime giants has no relation to outboxing someone as fast and mobile as Tyson. Green, Tillis, Ruddock , Tucker, Smith were all career HW's not cruisers moving up. It would be no guarantee Tyson knocked him out but Usyk isn't beating Tyson just because he beat Fury and AJ in competitive fights.
That’s what you took from all the insight I just blessed you with, but yeah it’s a given that Okolie will get murdered but can we get it done soon, he’s clearly not getting a shot with Usyk, so who do you think he should be fed to?
I forgot how many master boxers Usyk has beaten as a pro….esp at heavyweight… I love the guy, and he’d give any one in history a run for their money and have a great shot at beating them….. but come on man…
What master boxers has he beaten ever let alone HW? Fury is past it and barely out boxed a MMA fighter on debut.
He has never beat a master boxer He doesn't have any special fighters on is resume, just some decent guys and a couple who were bigger, while one is extremely shot due to his lifestyle
