The guy talks like he's Floyd... Duran or something... listen to his interviews... but in the end that's my perception... I don't see anything special in him... he hasn't shown anything great... he's good and he has talent, no doubt, but I can't judge based on expectations, I can only judge based on facts, and his career hasn't been the best... he can't even sell a PPV... he's arrogant

There's a reason he's so lauded by so many boxing experts, why he's such a decorated amateur, and why he's a 3-weight champion. And it's because Shakur is that good.
At the end of the day, if you're a professional athlete at the level Shakur is at, you have to have obscene self-confidence in yourself to have the guts to take on world-ranked opposition and be assured that you will beat them. James Toney once said that "95% of the game is relaxation," and he's completely right. So much of boxing is just being relaxed and mentally prepared, which is why so many fighters wax lyrical about their own ability. Because if they didn't they wouldn't be as good as they are.
Shakur is one of the most talented fighters in boxing today though, and is certainly among the most skilled. He's not an exciting watch but he is a tremendous pugilist, and it usually takes a keen eye to notice the nuances of his craft.

Like a lot of young fighters he has a fragile ego and takes to social media to whine about his critics.
He is obviously a good boxer highly skilled but I think he lacks the heart and the grit to be an ATG.

There's and endless list of guys that were "that good" until they stepped up.

He's not the only boxer to talk himself up like that and he certainly won't be the last. Bravado's all part of the show.

I don’t dislike Shakur he cracks me up. He looks and acts just like that cartoon bunny Snowball.

To his credit though he's the only one out of his peers not to kick them while they're down. Even when clowns like Teo or Devin call him boring or whatever, Shakur still gave them props after their recent lackluster performances.

How many times does he have to step up before he gets his props though? Shakur was the unified and lineal champion at 130 and dominated the three best fighters in the division back to back. It takes extraordinary levels of ability to beat even one world champion, but to beat three on the bounce while barely losing a round is unheard of. Hell, we saw Tank get beat up by Lamont Roach who himself got beaten by Jamel Herring, a guy that Shakur dominated and stopped. Conceiçao is an Olympic gold medallist and ought to hold wins over Valdez, Navarrete, and two wins over Foster yet he only won three rounds against Shakur on what was an off-night for Shakur. Even Edwin De Los Santos sparked Jose Valenzuela who later won a title, and whom Gary Antuanne Russell (arguably the hardest hitter at 140) could scarcely put a dent in. Yet Shakur beat De Los Santos quite literally one-handed.
You don't get to where Shakur is, you don't get the praise Shakur does, and you don't dominate credible, championship calibre opponents the way Shakur does if you aren't "that good."

It's actually insane how underrated Shakur's resume is. His win over Valdez alone makes it way better than Tank who still hasn't beaten a world champion since Pedraza. I keep saying it on this forums, but a fight between Loma and Shakur would be most highly skilled back and forth in recent years.

He needs to step it up as much as it takes to convince us that he is God's gift to boxing.

Shakur is in his prime and last I heard he was fighting an electrician.

No fault of Shakur though, his scheduled dance partner pulled out last minute!

Tank wants no part of him. Zepeda wants no part of him. Pitbull, Devin Haney, ryan Garcia want no Shakur problems

Shakur is talented but he have zero punching power and zero killer instinct and because of that he’s very boring to watch.

He will be a top guy but he will never be “the guy” and he will probably be forgotten as soon as he stop fighting.

It seems like he have a few fans for some weird reason but I have no interest in watching him fight or talk and I know I’m not alone. Hope he just goes away.
