I saw it, that was nice, that was nice. I feel like the Duran that fought Palomino has a good chance of drawing against Floyd if he also had some speed. Those were some nice counters and adjustments Duran had, but Floyd is not Palomino, but yeah, Duran has showed he is versatile.

Palomino did state that Duran's hand speed was unexpected,it caught him off guard multiple times.

You're correct, Palomino was no Floyd, but it doesn't hinder the fact.. Duran could adapt and adjust very good.

If you want to see further Duran adjusting performances,I'd like to recommend his performance vs Thompson,De Jesus III and III,Marcel, Viruet II, Barkley,Camacho I, Minchillo and Cuevas, you may have watched some because you did say you watched 200 something fights, but yeah there's the full packet.

Now you may recommend me Floyd's finest performances vs infighters,so I could imagine better of how this fight could go on.

I mean, with the way Floyd hugs so much, you might as well see all his fights have infighters. He wins all, so...

Not that kind,I mean his fight with the fighters that would count as infighters.

Those who pressures you into the ropes, while keeping their foot on the inside foot positioning, and occasionally clash bodies may count as an infighter.

Manny Pacquiao doesn't really count as one imo,he likes to dart in and out while overwhelming you with a volume of punches, and his knowledge on the inside/clinch fighting is kinda limited, when he got into a clinch he would either signal or instantly break up,he did beat an infighter in Hatton but he exploited Hatton's fear of the cross and timed him with that deadly left.

TBH many fighters who were infighters decided not to infight Floyd besides the skilled and elusive Drunken Master Augustus, and we know how badly Floyd pieced him up, and yes it did take Floyd out of his comfort zone but in return it risked Augustus heavy damage while not giving much damage back. Just look at Augustus face vs Floyd face, knam saying. I'm not sure charging in is the best option against someone who would punish you badly for charging in. Out of my analysis in his fights its best if you make it boring and capitalize on the smallest details rather than going in and force errors.

I mean...for that fight Emanuel was literally charging square, with his head in the center line, that's why he got heavy punishment, Duran would be able to soak it all until the end considering his defense.

If you watched the YT comments and Modern Martial Artist's Channel, Emmanuel was actually skilfully rolling the punches to reduce the damage, Emmanuel has better head movement than Duran but his body toughness is not as good as Duran's, that Floyd win vs Augustus is the blue print to how Floyd can beat Duran, I have yet to see a Duran fight blueprint any chance for beating Floyd. Maybe that first Leonard fight but Leonard wasn't at his A-game that night.

I don't think so,after round 2 or so Emanuel looks like he was taking full damage square in the face, even if he rolls,I don't think it's as good as Duran's still.

Duran would either duck or rubberneck good into the side, sliding with the punches, Emanuel was to reduce the damage by a bit,but Duran wanted to remove it better.

You're not wrong, you're not wrong, but I think that ducking and sliding could limit Duran's vision and Floyd could somehow use that to his advantage. Floyd loves taking away his opponent's habits and their best weapon with his chess like IQ, I could just be pulling tactics out of my but to beat your opponent in a debate, you have to think like your opponent in your debate, and what I am saying may just be within Floyd's bag of tricks. It's definitely a possibility

I guess so,fair point, but it could also limit Floyd's space for following up,even if Floyd managed to tag Duran with a cross,if Duran is leaning far into the right side,it would still be powerless and Duran could get back to position,if Floyd chooses to lift his feet off and drive the cross forward,it would give Duran better openings too.

Right however if we're talking lightweight Floyd who had speed and whose hands had the highest tagging rate, unlikely that Duran's somewhat slow reflexes could roll in time. Also remember Floyd's adjustive IQ would use his elbow to pin Duran's head down and limit Duran's movement.

Duran had no slow reflexes, with reflexes like a snail it's unlikely that a natural lightweight like him could survive at super middleweight, and Duran could also somewhat smother that cross by using his lead left frame(something he showed vs Marvin Hagler),and that,at least would put both of them in a stalemate.

I wouldn't say it's super slow but he didn't rely on it too much and his reflexes are not as good as Floyd's, sharp and precise. Many of Floyd's toughest opponents had glitchy twitchy reflexes that could throw off Floyd's timing, of course as you naturally age you don't lose reflexes your head movement just gets uneplainably smoother, that's Duran when he got up in weight. I would say Duran's defensive reflexes are good but not top tier, but in order to beat Floyd top tier reflexes is a must since you need those to make a good boring fight. Duran's offensive reflexes however are another story, he is sometimes too hesitant to attack after dodging unlike RJJ whose offensive reflexes are fast as hell.

It could somewhat also be a strength of it's own honestly, from what I see he did get quite hesitant when you catch him with a trap, but when everything is set he goes back to 0,back to the grind.

Floyd was about as good as it gets at adapting and adjusting mid-fight.
