I see Holyfield out- boxing Joshua early, then slowly drawing him into a firefight in which he takes advantage of the first opening he sees and puts a combination together that knocks Joshua out, KO.

This would be a replay of Holyfield’s first fight with Alex Stewart

I don't subscribe to the 'AJ is/was always rubbish' revisionism, but for me, there are levels. Absolute prime v prime, Holyfield breaks AJ up and stops him between 6 and 10. He will get stunned, he will occasionally have to regroup but a barrage of punches like he hit Foreman with would end AJs chances, although he'd be game, and live, till the end

No way does coddled Joshua stand up to that. Holyfield was throwing big left-hand and right-hand uppercuts.

The fight never happens and then a dedicated group of fanboys type messages on internet forums for decades blaming Holyfield.

Joshua has had a great career, but even in his prime he gets rag dolled by Holyfield. Holyfield is an ATG, up there with the best, He has to be in the top 20 all time at least. Holyfield in his prime was an animal, through sheer tenacity he would have ripped through Josh.

I think AJ would KO Evan Fields.
AJ has more chemical help than Evan Fields and is far bigger.
Evan Fields got KO'd by Toney who was a MW.

It's possible Fields beats AJ but he's not Usyk even though people believe he is. Usyk never gets KO'd by a MW and is naturally bigger.

AJ's chin is not as bad as people suggest, he can definitely take some shots from Fields like he did against Wlad, Povetkin even other good hitters like Whyte, Helenius.

Can Fields take AJ's shots? I doubt it. Look what happened when Povetkin got caught. He fell over and could do much else. He was probably a little punchy by then, but still, he'd never been stopped.

We can say what we want about AJ but he's around 6'5, roided out of his mind, loves a bit of HGH in the belly and really can hit hard. He also hits a lot harder than Tyson and harder than Lewis too.

Without going into specs, the old school was just built different. It's not even a fair match, to be honest. EH would definitely teach AJ a few things.

Sorry, if it wasn't clear, I agree. He was a world class fighter but for me, Holyfield was elite.

You seem to overrate ajs resume and his capabilities big time. Joshua looked the same as ever against Wallin, explosive, well schooled, then he fought a prime power puncher for the first time lol

This is one of those cases about the going getting tough. We know who perseveres in situations like that here and who doesn't. Holyfield by stoppage.

Frankly, Holyfield would be hell on wheels for so many of these new guys who don't like to get down and dirty.

Holyfield is the better fighter in terms of skill and toughness and should win but it def won't be an easy victory. He likes to get inside and get hit way too much and Joshua at his best is pretty good on the inside and hits very hard. So it all comes down to if Holyfield can survive Joshua's power because he def will get hit at some point. If he can then he'll win once Joshua gets discouraged and falls apart. If he can't then he'll lose.
