Joyce needs to retire. His long term health is at stake. I hope Hrgovic can be in the mix again. Good fighter. Not exceptional but he does a lot of things well. If Dubois and Parker can make big comebacks, so can Hrgovic.
I think Hrgovic will box all 10 rounds without risk and win in a boring way, and if that happens then it will be harder to get to a bigger fight...
Hrgovic should take a wide UD , if he presses it he'll get the stoppage . I believe that's the way to bet and I will. In his latest fights Joyce may have been the slowest fighter I've ever seen.
I didn't realize it was a 10 round fight. That, given the late notice for Hrgovic and how he lost his previous fight due to gassing (and cuts) is a + for Hrgovic. That being said, despite Big Joe Joyce's age and how his slow-fast speed being shot to bits, a 10 round fight vs Big Joe Joyce will feel like a 15-20 round one in the late rounds if you unable to get him out of there and you have stamina issues and haven't had a full camp so I still see this as a very risky fight for Hrgovic to take at late notice and one which could end up backfiring and being a really dumb decision on his part if he loses due to running out of gas. He says he's in good shape but that he would've preferred more time but there's a big difference between being in good shape and being in the kind of good shape you need to be in if you already have stamina issues and are facing a 260-280lb marathon runner like Big Joe Joyce This content is protected But sadly it will very likely be the end of the road for Big Joe if he loses so it could prove to be a really dumb decision on his part too. He's going to get hit a lot in the early going and suffer more brain abuse. Hrgovic has shared a ring, be it in the gym or a sanctioned fight, with a who's who of some of the hardest punchers over the last 25-30 years and indeed ever and he's eaten a lot of flush bombs himself so his chin might crack at some point in the future too
I actually preferred Whyte more for this fight as I believe both Joyce and Whyte are washed and don't have it anymore. I'm kind of dreading this fight because I like Joyce and I think this could do some bad damage to him. I can see why he took the fight though, a victory here and he is right back in the mix, the division is about to be flux with Usyk set to retire and itd probably only take one more win against a Wardley/Huni/Ajagba type to get a title shot. This feels like its part of Hrgovics rebuild though, especially if he has taken the time off to work on himself, which it sounds like he has, getting a new trainer and all.
If Chisora can drop him, Croatian should be able to get the TKO. I know Chisora is the hardest hitter at HW according to Usyk, but Haye's roids aren't THAT good.
What's people opinion of how Whyte vs Joyce would of unfolded? I see that as a much better fight for Joyce. I'd rather have Joyce fighting a fighter attempting to a comeback (like whyte or Ruiz). Hrgovic is a bit too young for Joyce at this stage. I was really disliking the substitution. I win bet on it as I don't think Joyce can win this... Joyce vs Whyte was more of a coin flip and an interesting match. Hrgovic should be fighting people his age like Bakole. Picking on old guy's is a bit unfair.
I don’t believe Chisora is the hardest hitter at HW at all. That said, he’s got a nice right haymaker that puts men on their ass when he lands it flush. He’s certainly a well above average puncher.
Great video as always Rummy. I'm not sure Joyce lasts nine, especially since Hrgovic now understands that losing to Dubois is why he's not champ. I think Hrgovic will come out motivated despite If Joyce tries to play it safe I got Hrgovic within six.
