What decade has been the strongest overall for HWs in the 21st century? Measured by the strongest top 10 at any point in the decade

I have a very strong recency bias and "what have you done for me lately" attitude, so I'm going with 2020s.

I imagine the 2000s will lose by a mile.

With the retirement of Lewis in 2004, this century of heavyweights, to me, seems to have started four or five years later.

    It's running more like:

    2005-2014 (Post Lewis/Wlad-Vitali era)

2015-2024 (Wlad's run ending/start of the reigns of Fury, Wilder, Joshua/ and ending with Usyk taking over)

And 2025 seems to be another end/beginning approaching, with Usyk finishing up and counting the days and a bunch of younger guys poised to take over.

In retrospect it's might be the 2000s. Usyk didn't not arrive in a heavyweight division with more talent than Klitschko era, only more exciting generation. This era is overrated, ancient shot Chisora is still top dog

He's not, though. The IBF just wanted a mandatory defense, since they hadn't had one in a while, and pitted the #9 guy against the #12 guy and mind-bogglingly made him a mando.

The IBF barely had them as fringe guys a month ago.

What's overrated are the egos of some of the sanctioning body members. Nobody thinks Chisora is the top dog at heavyweight. His next fight is supposed to be his last fight. They don't even think that. They just want a sanctioning fee.

Social media hype and 2 overrated brits and don't get me started with Wilder

Chisora shot to bits and still a top dog says it all.

Lewis could come back and compete now

Of eras that are complete its Late 00s/early 10s for me. The border years.

But I have a hunch the present era would be number one if certain champions actually gave new fighters title shots to prove themselves. A big problem is champions aren't championing so we're basically wandering in the dark.

Yes, probably be top 10. These guys are terrible
Why is chisora still a live fighter? Any other era, he would get smashed to pieces

    Its a good question.

Will just say the 2010s as you still had Wlad, even David Haye and Vitali. Uysk had just joined the HW division, Wilder and AJ was in their primes and undefeated, obviously the lineal champion in Tyson Fury. And some other good fighters in Dubois, Povetkin, Whyte, Ruiz, Joyce, Parker. They should have fought each other a lot more sadly. The 2010s as a whole had a nice and broad crop of interesting fighters.

It is unfair to say this to your question but 2015 to 2025 I'd say.

Surprised the 2000s is getting so many votes. I imagine once the poll is over it will still lose tbf.

2020s because fights seem to just get made and happen.

Both previous decades were full of negotiation sagas that went on for months on end.

    Eg. Haye/Wlad ... Fury - anyone.
