Underrated before Golovkin smashed him to bits, which effectively ruined him as a fighter.

Under rated but he chased the Khan fight too long that he took his eye off the ball and could have moved up to 154lbs and become champion there

The Golovkin fight showed he was a 'weight bully', because he looked basically the same size and was the same weight in fact.
So he was probably overrated since if he had to fight at 154 from the beginning it would have been harder.
The Golovkin fight also showed he was another manufactured brand. Who takes a title fight with the agreement that as soon as they get in trouble the corner will pull the plug? That was very corrupt. And we were denied a proper KO.

I think he had a couple more good fights after the Khan fight.

He would have absolutely smashed Conor Benn.

We were probably denied seeing how good he could be by being ruined by GGG. I think he could have beaten Spence had he not fought GGG prior to facing Spence.

I probably overrated him a little during his prime active years. But I think he's a little underrated now because of the loss to Spence. I think at worst he was on a similar level to Spence. Good fighter who deserved to be at the top level of his division but was never really a top P4P fighter and I don't think anyone ever saw him as such. Better than the Shawn Porters, as good as the Spence's but never on the level of someone like Crawford.

I think he is rated relatively accurately as a boxer. He has a bit of an outsized public profile compared to his boxing ability, but when it comes to his actual career most people seem to have a decent handle on where he sits.

This. Brook was never the same after that fight. He had big stones to take it, but going in there to brawl Golovkin was never gonna be a winning strategy. Seems to me that he suffered "eggshell face" after GGG fractured his bones.

Edit: Here's the highlights. Great fight

I think he would have beaten Spence before the Golovkin disaster. Although, Spence was never that good....

So take it for what it's worth.

I'm of the opinion that Brook would've beaten Spence had he not got the eye injury vs Golovkin previously.

I don't think he's underrated or overrated he was a good fighter definitely world class but he didn't get the big fights.

The Khan fight should've happened years before I've always felt Khan ducked Brook and you may say "But he fought fighters like Canelo etc".

Yes Khan did fight some dangerous opposition but the Brook fight was a real grudge match in the UK that would've decided the best British Welterweight in the world. Had Khan lost to Brook it would've been a much more damaging loss to him rather than losing to someone like Canelo.

He never should've been been in the ring with Golovkin which hurt his career significantly because he was never quite the same after that especially with the eye injury.

I think outside of Crawford he could've beaten most of the Welterweights of his era when healthy and fit.

I think rated about right. Could have had a much better career than he did tho.

The shawn porter win was a great one away from home. Not much in that fight imo....although that was about his level. Porter was a good fighter tho and a nightmare opponent. I still think spence would have probably beat him pre golovkin. Not much between the two but spence was a step up from porter around that time before his accident etc.

The biggest problem with his career was their wasnt enough porter type wins. He could have cemented himself with another 2 or 3 around that level.

Reckon he,d have always beat khan with his timing.

Overall very good fighter just didnt have the consistancy to be a great fighter in the top fighters scheme of things anyway.

Still say he was probably avoided because of the ingle style.

Kell Brook was a top fighter- underrated in his early days. Still had a great Career- probably stayed around two or three fights too long. Should never have taken the Golovkin fight but it secured his future
