If Mayweather had ever faced GGG, how would you have seen that fight go?

    Floyd would’ve exploited him.

GGG’s bit basic, overall good but Floyd’s overall great by comparison just lacking in size here probably Floyd by UD.

That fight was floated as a realistic possibility. Golovkin was all for it but Floyd reversed so fast that he blew his gearbox. All that remains is the smoke of "easy work".

That tells me what the result would have been.

"Basic" GGG would have turned Floyd inside out and he knew it.

At 154? Floyd would out box him. But he would never get credit for beating GGG at 154 anyway. All people would say is he didn't have the balls to face him at middleweight and drained him.

This. 154 is too low for GGG.

Yeah because Floyd has a history of trying to fight guys "at their best" That would be a bonus in his eyes.

    And they'd be extremely correct.

And I think so would you, Floyd fights him to a close decision, in one of those gutsy performances you don't expect to see from him.

I will concede that if GGG didn't handle the weight cut well, it could be a possibility. A bad weight cut turns good fighters into plodders.

GGG would be a sitting duck for the lead straight right hand.

Floyd would be a sitting duck for a beatdown.

How hard a cut would it have been for GGG to make 154? Unlike, Canelo who continually moved up, GGG was content to fight his whole career at 160.

This we don't know. Golovkin was confident he could have cut the weight no problem. Myself, I have my doubts it would have been that easy.

I doubt any cut is that easy, but if GGG never had issues with making 160 into his 40s, it tells me he was not a particularly massive 160 like some of the big cutters out there. He always stayed lean between fights and never blew up, which is what makes cutting hardest.

I think he'd have made the weight comfortably, whether or not it'd have been ideal. Mayweather would have needed rocks in his shorts to come in at 160.

GGG was 168lbs fight night vs Proska, 170lbs vs Macklin and Monroe and 173lbs vs Rubio.

You'd want to choose an early GGG for this hypothetical match up, he was a little leaner and quicker then, the cut to 154lbs would be less severe, though he still wouldn't be the GGG we saw in the ring at 160lbs.
