The Joshua who took 7 rounds to stop the ghost of Robert Helenius (who got blown out in 1 by a shot Wilder) stops Fury in...four rounds? Weren't you just insisting you aren't a fanboy? This post reads like some sad fanboy dream. If Usyk weren't around, Fury would come and go fighting occasional mega fights as the rest of the heap traded belts. Zhang, Dubois, Kabayel, Hrgo, Parker, maybe Bakole and even Wilder/Joshua trade wins in a very active division. There's no world in which Wilder or Joshua dominate. Wilder was never the same after Fury II, and Joshua was never the same after Fat Andy made him rethink life. Fury is easily the most skilled of the bunch as evidenced by the Usyk fights. He would be favored to beat all of them.
I remember saying during the Klistchko era that as soon as America or Britain regains control over the division it will immediately be deemed a great or much better era than it was when the Soviet brothers ruled over it and, as per usual, I was bang on the money. However, I should've had the foresight to foresee that these exact same people would immediately revert to type and do exactly the same as soon as the Soviet brothers annexed control of it again from those HWs from the US/UK because this is exactly what they've done
Usyk has not only proved his greatness in this era, he has also shown the era to be not that great either. If you get what I mean
Yeah Fury probably would've fought and beaten AJ after the Wilder fights and retired undefeated claiming to be the greatest of all time.
If the money was right Fury would have fought anyone. Cocaine isn't cheap. Neither are the buffets and pubs when you're his size.
If "never the same" Wilder can drop Fury in the 4th round of their trilogy twice while couldn't even drop the likes of Johan Duhaupas, so can AJ. And AJ was the better finisher at that. Plus Fury was also "never the same" after Wilder or so his fanboys claim. I'm definitely less of a fanboy than you making 20 AJ threads xD
If Usyk never went HW then AJ wouldn't have lost to him so even though he'd keeping ducking Fury and Wilder to protect his run, he'd be confident enough to take on Dubious, thinking he'd beat the young upstart who got stopped by Joyce. Then Dubious would destroy him and so AJ would have to rebuild for a few years. Fury would then beat Dubious and become undisputed.
Why? There are plenty of top heavyweights he has yet to fight. Fury and Joshua being a disappointment doesn't mean the era sucks
People would have been laughing at the idea that a guy like Usyk could hang with the Three Kings of Wilder, AJ and Fury. People would be saying he gets whooped by Chisora and Dubois, easily.
In all honesty, the fact they're both a disappointment AND they're by far the most proven... It'd be kinda hard to argue that the era doesn't suck when it's been basically cleaned out by those two, surely? Usyks done well to beat both twice each, against stacked decks, and to beat the likely champion of the next era convincingly too... But it's still just not the best era, and that takes a shine off how valuable it is to have dominated this moment.
Because they haven't come close to cleaning out this era. That's nonsense and several guys still have the opportunity to prove they are better than either of them. Kabayel and Dubois already have an argument for being ahead of Joshua
Are you saying historically? Kabeyal, as much as I like him, has done nothing to be mentioned in the same breath as Joshua. Dubois has the head-to-head win against Joshua, and it is a good one to hang his hat on, but its against a 34 year old, already thrice beaten version. After that, Hrgovic? Miller? C'mon.
Imagine if Kabayel got the undeserved shot aj did against Dubois, perhaps he would've put himself on the map instead of getting rolled over in 5 like joshyboy Imagine if Kabayel fought the likes of fat Ruiz, Wallin, 40 year old Pulev, 40 year old Povetkin, 36 year old gatekeeper Takam, Shyte. I see him winning all those, and he has a chance to prove himself against a prime Parker
