Schmeling's a death sentence, Sharkey is a pick em, he beats Bivins.
For Galento and Baer he either takes them out very quickly or they take him out very quickly.

Slightly hesitantly I say that Ken sweeps the table. Schmelling's right hand is a major risk but I make Ken favourite against Max because he's stronger and the former's no Foreman or Shavers.

Sharkey: Prime for prime it is a 50/50 fight, but Norton easily beats the version that Louis fought.
Schmeling: I lean towards Schmeling , but it is a bit of a stylistic tangle.
Galento: This might offend some people, but my gut is that Galento's power gets home at some point, but no money going down.
Baer Jr:: Absolute stylistic nightmare for Norton, that is not going to end well.
Bivins: Norton probably beats any version.

You don't need skills or smarts to beat Norton.

    Not even remotely.

All you need is devastating power, and a modicum of delivery.

Agree with the last sentence, but Baer and Galento, same power as Cooney? Not likely.

Why not? Both floored Louis with single shots. And both were known as KO punchers.

Louis wasn't typically floored by hard punchers apart from maybe Schmeling and Walcott. He'd get floored in flashes, think of how he was put down against Braddock, but not Max Baer (who was surely stronger than his brother). Baer and Galento clearly have some pop to their punches, but Cooney had a combination of technique, and power. I don't think that either Baer or Galento wouldn't have made Young hurt the same way that Gerry did.

Buddy Baer was one of the hardest heavyweight punchers to grace the ring and was the same size as Cooney. Galento was built like David Tua and probably has a similar amount of power in his left hook.

Yup. Even the faded version of Young that Cooney beat, would’ve wiped the floor with Galento and Buddy.

You aren't too high on Galento and Buddy Baer, I see?

So a faded Young is now better than Nova, Savold, Mann, Ettore, Simon, Natie Brown, Leroy Haynes and Don Barry?

Louis was never floored by a fighter who didn't have big power.

Walcott, Braddock, Schmeling, Baer and Galento were all renowned punchers.
