Hrgovic is not a big puncher. I dont know why the broadcasters keep making it like he is He doesnt have much snap on his punches and has never came close to even hurting a world level opponent. His KOs are usually Tkos anyways Whats with the Wladimir Klitschko comparisons ? He doesnt have that kind of power. He doesnt sit down on his punches.
Yeah I don't think hes pillow fisted but not a puncher by any stretch of the imagination. It's also weird because he can be very accurate particularly with the right hand but even then it's like the punches are not timed to do damage, just to connect. The amount of right hands he hit Dubois with early was impressive but made virtually no dent , not quite enough power to keep Dubois honest in there
Hrgovic's power is not elite and is not even close to Wladimir's, I would put him on the same level of power as Whyte, Parker, Kabayel, etc..
Agree that Hrgovic isn't a particularly big puncher but he has good technical ability and is a pretty accurate puncher.
The problem is, although he's technically decent enough... he doesn't really have the workrate or the stamina to win on cards against decent fighters who aren't ancient with horrible gas tanks (eg: Zhang and Joyce). Throw in okay rather than great power and you have a fighter who's probably not winning on the cards against top contenders, and doesn't have that much of a punchers chance either. Great chin, but as an overall package I just think he's not quite complete - he'd be a lot more plausible if he was motivated to train harder, got fitter and solved his stamina problems... But there's things you could fix about most fighters that'd make them better - it's precisely because they're flawed that we're able to go hypothetical about it.
Yeah I don't get it either. He has decent power, nothing amazing. The thing he DOES have is accuracy with his right hand. Comparisons to Wlad are insane. Wlad is up there with anyone you'd like to name. Zhang, Foreman, Shavers, etc. Hrgovic? He's not in the same conversation as them. He's got a damn good chin though.
Yeah I agree. Against certain opposition - Hrgovic's physical flaws such as his stamina will cost him if he can't keep his opponent away from him in the long-run considering his power isn't great, you saw how Hrgovic basically gave up on his footwork at times against Joyce as his gas tank was almost empty. A bit of a shame because stamina is so incredibly important in boxing and if Hrgovic worked on his stamina - it would improve him so much as a fighter. I can't see Hrgovic beating the likes of AJ (a lot of people will disagree with this on here), nor Fury, certainly not Usyk. Kabayel will be a stylistic nightmare for Hrgovic too with those body shots. Parker? I think it could be competitive and Hrgovic would win a few rounds but would fade away too much and probably lose in the end as Parker is experienced and effective enough late in fights.
Off topic but out of interest? Who do you have winning between Wardley and Miller? Quite excited for that fight - I got Wardley as I think he is really a huge huge puncher in which Miller's defence is that shocking he basically invites punches to his face and Wardley has shown he can deal with resilience and go 12 rounds. Then again, we don't know how good Clarke really was/is and we have to very careful backing prospects with thin records.
One of his problems is when he feels the target is easy to hit he just arm punches and doesn't turn into his shots. He knew he could easily tag Joyce and Dubios so he was mainly swinging arm punch's. Fury does this as well sometimes.
He probably has Vitali power. So we prepare to sit through excruciating TKO's where he takes 10+ rounds and 1000 punches.
