Now, what the heck this was doing being sanctioned a final eliminator by the WBA - that's a good question. :sisi1

La Cruz may be a legend in the amateurs, but professionally he's a 3-0 novice and nobody he defeated prior to Prašović was even close to world ranked. As for Prašović, he is coming off a win over a 3-9 guy and before that was stopped twice in a row. He is 3-5 in his last eight, stopped every single time he steps up in class.

What on earth was the justification for saying "yes, the winner of this deserves a crack at the world champ"? :shakehead:

    Fun fight.
La Cruz won the first stiffened him with about 1.25 left.
Prašović took the second after 2 knockdowns (1 each) and then 3 knockdowns in the 3rd for La Cruz finished off with a body shot.
Cruz moves really well but he needs to sort his hands out while defending, he was knocked down by a hook/uppercut with his guard non existent.

Man, Cruz isn't sorting anything out at this point in time. His movement is his whole defence, he won't be changing that now. He was stopped multiple times as an amateur and changed nothing. It makes his fights more fun if anything.

Arlen López is the oldest looking 31 year old I've ever seen. He looked fat and slow, as if he has low testosterone. He doesn't have the look of a motivated fighter.

Alvarez is an exciting prospect, not too many boxers from Cuba are that aggressive with power on their punches. He could do big things if he pushes for it.

La Cruz has clearly lost a step with the age and heavier weight. Slower reflexes, less upper body movement. I don't know how those slappy right hands can hurt anyone.
