What is his future in Super Flyweight ? - A rematch with Phumelela Cafu for the WBO World Belt (but the South African is actually more interested by a unification with Jesse Bam Rodriguez or a fight with Chocolatito which will bring in more money) - A rematch with Kazuto Ioka ( not possible yet Ioka will have his rematch with Fernando Daniel Martinez the 11th May). - A fight against the winner of Willibaldo Garcia and Rene Calixto rematch for the IBF Belt ? - If Cuadras don't fight Andrew Moloney he can be against Andrew Moloney for the WBC Interim Belt ? - Moving in Bantamweight division ? - His retirement ?
Tanaka shouldn't have lost his last fight. Would be a shame if he wasn't given a shot winning the belt back. But Bam Bam has the sanctioning bodies and the boxing establishment behind him so Tanaka is likely ****ed if they are seriously pursuing that.
To be honest I have a serious doubt that he will be back in the ring right now... of course the last fight was a bad decision for him at least a draw (the fight was close and Cafu was the challenger...). But recently we see him that he comment the card and specially the fight of Kento Hatanaka vs Wilber Berondo for the WBO Asia Pacific Super Flyweight belt at Nagoya (where he lives currently). There is no ceremony or no announces yet but in a short period after a career some of the greatest boxers of Japan become commentators it's normal there.
