Also the IBF forgo the rehydration clause with it being a unification, no wonder Boots had more energy than his previous performances.

They also love to say that Timmy has bad defence and is easy to hit and Tim has been in with big punchers. Ennis has been getting tagged clean in his last few fights but apparently he is the truth

Name the last Aussie fighter that was a weight bully. I’ll wait.

Boots looks good but not amazing to me. Even his speed and power was a bit lacking. It was good but not WOW level, and Stan was custom made for him also.

Just caught up with this one. Seemed a weird time to stop the fight to me. Stan was being beat but he was hardly out on his feet and he was still able to fight back. I figured he might fancy his chances more if he could make it to the later rounds. Maybe I’m missing something.

He has a baby due, didn't want to take punishment, risk it to win. I know we are averse to saying that a fighter quit, but that's exactly what it was if we are calling a spade a spade. Understandable given the circumstances, but that was still a very winnable fight for him if he was willing to walk through the fire.

Think this was a big factor - just caught delayed showing, although this is the best I've seen Boots look in ages, he looked MASSIVE in there, like a middleweight vs a welter.

His bodywork and uppercuts were superb though

Ennis gets hit and was the bigger man. It doesn't change anything though.

Ennis is clearly the number 1 WW in the world now and he'd be a favourite over anyone else in the division.

Him being bigger isn't an excuse nor a reason. It's an observation. Lopez was also bigger than Volk but that time the smaller man won.

The way boxing is today, all you have to do is make weight the day before. That's why every single fighter outside of HW cuts weight. They all want the advantage.

Stanionis didn't weigh less than 147 on fight night, i bet he was a MW in the ring.

I have no sympathy for any boxers in this regard because they all try to game the system.

Haven't seen the fight yet, but apparently Boots dominated. I am not surprised. I said he could give Crawford a hard fight years ago. The guy is very fast. And in the lower weight classes very fast hands and feet can take you a long way. You can really go places with speed alone in the lower weight classes. Which is why I prefer the higher weights myself.

Great performance and important win for Ennis. I would like to see him against Teofimo Lopez now, if Lopez wins against Barboza in a few weeks, which I think will happen.

Good performance and win for Ennis.

Would like to see him move up to SWW - much better match-ups there than the WW division.

Fair comment, but he shouldn’t really have taken the fight if he was only willing to walk through a little bit of adversity in the biggest fight of his career.
