There isn’t much to say. His record speaks for itself. He will fight anyone for the right price and anyone who will contend for a title has him as a win over him.

He had his shot at the tittle and has come up short each time. He keeps on getting opportunity cause he is very beatable.

We won't have to worry about it. Chisora was gifted the second Pulev fight, cherry picked a couple of low hanging fruits, and still gassed out in the middle rounds, resorting to throwing random overhand rights that happened to land.

Chisora is a warrior, and a fun watch, but he's not a legit top 15 heavyweight.

I disagree with your comment about those upsets being “ isolated incidents. All three of them happened within a roughly four year period and it rarely seems to diminish the perception of the 90s being a stellar era. The closest thing we’ve seen lately to those kinds of upsets was Andy Ruiz Jr vs Anthony Joshua and even that was already about six years ago. Another thing that seems to be commonly overlooked or unnoticed is that Oleksandr Usyk himself is 38 years old, fights on average once per year and is a former cruiser. An upset at this point wouldn’t surprise me even to a far lesser opponent. And it wouldn’t have the same kind of magnitude to me as old George Foreman beating a prime Lennox Lewis.

It's been no secret that I've been a big very long time fan of our, Derek.

It's his ' I will give it a good bloody go' attitude and his super-duper, water off a ducks back strong mental strength he possess which a 'loss' can't put a scratch on.

I've said it many times before, metaphorically speaking, he can lose and get busted up like you wouldn't believe on a Saturday night, he'll maybe be feeling down in the dumps all day Sunday ( he's known for binge eating Digestive biscuits btw ;) ). But come Monday morning his warrior attitude and mentality is absolutely good to go again...

However, the realistic chances of him winning a world title are long-long gone.

BUT, he'll defo enjoy trying and filling a stadium, believing that he actually can.

    WAR Chisora!

Chisora had some good wins and for everyone who beat him, the wins will age well...

Well people are currently talking about Usyk as being a top 10 ATG..I've even seen some people arguing for him being top 5, although I disagree.

Usyk just beat Fury twice who had so much hype and praise as a skilled SHW. He also has wins over Joshua who has a fairly decent career with decent names like Povetkin, Pulev, etc. He's also undefeated, unlike Lewis who had two losses at the time Foreman was active.

I think Usyk losing to a 40 something Chisora would be significantly worse than Lewis losing to a 40 something Foreman. Chisora never won a title, Foreman at least had the titles he won against Moorer. Foreman at least is bringing devastating punching power to the table anyone can walk into, Chisora is a very predictable grinder with even worse defense than Old Foreman.

Oh I'm not arguing for Chisora being anywhere near top 15. Far from it.

What you're saying would just make the current division look even worse in hindsight if he managed to win some titles at this stage.

Good post I agree with everything. His in ring intelligence is underrated as well even though he has taken a lot of punishment his defense is pretty good and he has good survival instincts. He picks which guys to trade with if he feels he is stronger and more powerful than them that's when he is happy to go to war it did backfire on him a couple of times with David Haye and Dillion Whyte.

He's like Holyfield, with less talent but more size. Exact same attitude, toughness, self belief.

It's a shame there isn't more protection for fighters.

You have to respect the guy's willingness to fight, but he's clearly got CTE.

Let Chisora be an example to all the fighters out there shitting bricks at stepping up in level.

You just need to be entertaining and take risks in the ring to make the payola.

The number of losses in the L column of your record doesn't put Benjamin's in the bank.

The real danger to Usyk is Kabayel. Cannot be a bit weak to the body and go up against that man. Yikes.

a man is free to smoke 3 packs a day, guzzle whiskey like it’s water, and live off fast food. If he wants to fight, let him.

Well to be fair all you have to do to hit Joyce is close your eyes and swing, in my opinion his 2 greatest strengths are his durability and his physical strength. The fact he's still around I believe is testament to a weak era which is the current state of the division.
