That's depressing news on Frampton. As you say he was really good on TNT. If they're turning them all into vapid cheerleaders I'll never renew.
Perfectly said. The only people subscribing to DAZN are by definition hardcore fans. They are paying an extra sub for boxing as there’s sod all else on there to watch. If they think that thousands of casuals have signed up cause Warrens on there they are completely delusional. Warren may be many things but he’s hardly KSI. Are we going to see him in a basketball shirt, swigging Prime and talking like he’s from Central LA ? They should be upping their production to appeal to the boxing fans who subscribe not dumbing down to benefit people who probably don’t know that DAZN exists.
Took the plunge for the £83 offer but very disappointed by the commentary team on Saturday. They need more focus on describing the action in the ring and scoring the fights properly.
Made me laugh when they had this big song and dance about this impartial AI judge they had for Fury v Usyk, but then never mentioned it during the fight and instead just had Anthony Joshua’s scorecard after every round. And if there’s one person you can trust to give an honest, unbiased scorecard for Fury v Usyk, it’s AJ. Might as well have just had John Fury scoring.
Just watched Boots-Stanionis official highlights, Sergio Mora's commentary is still absolute HIV. Still glad I cancelled
This will do as well as it deserves to. Ludicrous price for events with next to no British interest. Big misjudgement imho. Hope this is not a sign of what’s to come.
I'd say if you were a British subscribers having fights like this included in the Yearly fee, it starts to make sense to do it. But having to pay £35 for fights at 5am, they are very good but they aren't exactly Mega Fights
It’s insane these US shows aren’t included as part of your subscription for people outside the US. I can’t see 1,000 people buying this in the UK.
I'm still a DAZN customer but they need to be careful. Quote from Eddie Hearn a few years ago : "PPVs are killing the sport of boxing".
The undercards are not particularly good so there is no value for money in this case. Eubank Jr vs Benn should sell well but the other 2 DAZN PPV Events ? How many people will pay to see Ryan Garcia and Canelo in mismatches ?
Serious question, it will do well, but do you think it will do as well as they (boxxer/matchroom) think? I ask as I have been getting emails this week regarding tickets, the usual 'last few available ' type of email. When I clicked the link out of curiosity almost every section had seats available, whole rows in some cases, which i didnt expect given the amount of promotion its had. I think it probably sells out come fight week, and I'm not going to knock a 60k attendance event - its big, no doubt. But....we were told 130k sign ups for presale, it will sell out instantly etc. If the much slower than expected sale of seats carries over to ppv - will the total ppv sales come in lower than they expect? I don't know what amount of PPVs they expect or would class as a mega event total. What amount they would consider disappointing against expectations
