Again, we can leave it at that. I just want to make clear that you were arguing against something I never said. I didn't say his record is great, just that he is realistically within striking distance. If you disagree, fine. No issue.
We don't need to agree anyway brother. I just like when I can debate without insults, as it should be. Have a good weekend mate, take care!!
No he didn't. How does one make a compelling argument to that effect? Whyte, Chisora, Wlad and Wilder only get us to 4. Where are you able to find more candidates let alone 4? If Fury has 8 than Ajagba is already at 4 or 5 and Mike Tyson is at 20 plus
You listed 7 names earlier. Of that list 3 guys clearly were not among the world's best heavyweights regardless of what any sanctioning body said. I shouldn't have to explain that Schwartz, Hammer, and Wallin were not top 10 heavyweights but here goes In 2015 the following guys were better than Hammer Wlad Klitschko Fury Wilder Povetkin Ortiz Parker Ruiz Joshua Jennings Chisora Etc In 2019 the following guys were better than Schwarz and Wallin Fury Kabayel Chisora Hrgovic Joyce Parker Joshua Whyte Ortiz Wilder Etc It's easy to name 10 guys who were better at the time
Your ignorance of his Cruiserweight and amateur career results in an incomplete assessment. Firstly, he won Olympic gold. A feat very few ATG boxers have achieved. Secondly, he fought a great list of Cruiserweights in their backyards to win the undisputed belt. His heavyweight run is limited by who was in front of him, but Fury was undefeated, and Usyk remains the only man to beat him. The question mark on Usyk is the number of professional fights, but he spent and long time achieving amateur greatness, while he fights in an era where fight frequency is much lower than the past. IMHO he is higher than 20 but I have difficulty comparing him at that level, as they are all great in their own way. I struggle to think of opponents who I could say would confidently beat him. Lennox is the last HW that I think has a chance, and noone in CW history, even Evan Fields.
Reprinted for your convenience: WladKlit- Unifed Champ Wilder 2- WBC Champ Wilder 3- WBC #1 (I think) Dillian Whyte- WBC interum 10/2014 Chisora #3 IBF, #1 WBO 1/2015 Christian Hammer #1 WBO 5/2019 Tom Schwarz #3 IBF, #2 WBO 8/2019 Otto Wallin #4 WBA,
When the first fight you see of Usyk is at Heavyweight, you know you're a casual. Usyk's best work was at Cruiserweight. He would have comfortably defeated Opetaia had they ever fought. He is H2H Cruiserweight GOAT.
PS, Usyk didn't duck anyone. Almost everyone else in history has avoided serious threats. From Floyd and Canelo, who are true GOAT duckers, to SRR ducking Burley and Co, Lewis ducking Vitali rematch, Dempsey ducked Greb etc, although Greb seemed like he'd fight anyone.
Out of interest, do disagree?: 1. That typically throughout history, Ring Magazines rankings better represent the best/most deserving top 10 contenders than the alphabet rankings; Or 2. That in the classic section, when citing the number of ranked contenders beaten as a guide to the depth of a fighter's win resume, the majority of posters will be referring to Ring ranked contenders? Or both?
None of this matters. Boxing is a business, and they beat the guys in front of them to get and maintain ratings. Ring Magazine is an editor's opinion. The fighters pay no attention.
Ok, but this response does not specify which part of what I posted you disagree with. I was just interested what it was I said that you disagreed with, but no worries if you don't want to go there.
