Parker wins this, better power and has experience, Huni hasn't tested himself against a top fighter...
That WBO ranking is, frankly, an absolute joke... Huni looks a respectable prospect (he's 26), but he's proven next to nothing - his best win by a distance is a UD over Lerena, and Lerena doesn't exactly have a catalogue of great wins either, the highlight being a UD against 43 year old Wach. Huni has no business being anywhere near title fights yet - and absolutely no business being in a ring with the likes of Parker... Not a remotely competitive matchup right now.
Not a fight I would chase if I was Huni's team. Right now Parker is clearly the better fighter by some margin. Huni simply too green and Parker is in his prime. Maybe in a few years this fight would make sense when Parker is on the slide, but right now it would only have one outcome and that's Parker winning, probably stopping Huni.
I've got Huni beating Joseph Parker. Always have done. He's much faster & more skilful. As for him having trouble with Kevin Lerena, so did Daniel Dubois & he kicked on from there. I think Huni will too. I'm also very confident that Huni would take a fight with Parker if it was offered to him. Much better to face Parker now than not fight at all & then have to face an active Moses Itauma later in the year. That's what the British promoters will be aiming for.
Against much worse opponents. Which in my book, doesn't mean too much... Parker's very durable, Huni isn't particularly powerful - therefore cards are basically the only way Huni can win... Parker's proven at a much higher level and is good on cards - it seems very unlikely that Huni has much of a chance, every level a fighter goes up their chances of winning decreases significantly and there's multiple levels between where Huni is proven and where Parker is. I have little doubt Huni would take it - would be a huge profile raiser and much bigger payday than he's used to... And even if the obvious happens and he loses, he's still a prospect with time to learn and build from it. Let's not go hyping yet another prospect with silly expectations.
Joseph Parker has done very well for himself but is eminently beatable. I've seen all of Huni's professional fights & plenty of his amateur ones & happen to think he's a much more talented fighter. I think he's faced higher quality opponents than you're giving him credit for & would have no trouble putting together 10 hard rounds in a distance fight with Joseph Parker. Huni UD10 for me.
Parker's beatable by top contenders... Huni isn't anywhere near proven to be that yet. Picking a fairly green prospect to pull it off is, IMHO, wild. There's several levels between the guys Parker's beaten and the guys Huni has - there's an absolutely vast difference between what each man has proven. This is as strange an idea as people picking Itauma to beat Usyk or prime Foreman/Tyson/etc - it's just wild.
Dudes a prospect... It's that simple Huni's best win would barely scrape into Parkers top ten. Being a decent amateur doesn't automatically translate into the pros either. Backing unproven prospects is just silly - you get your hopes up thinking you've spotted the next big thing and most of the time you wind up being dead wrong because, newsflash, most of them don't make it to the very top. Huni would have next to no chance at all with Parker just yet... He's got time and seemingly ability to grow, but there's absolutely no way he's ready for that, yet (if he ever is!).
