The Whitaker fight had a huge press build-up and lots of coverage, even a gloves-off special, whereas Dalton Smith really could have been an undercard fight to the Warrington fight, and no one outside diehards and Smith fans would have noticed.

Obviously, the first fight helped Whittaker v Cameron, but the Sky machine is second to none.

I think a good number of that crowd last night were there because the story and personality of Liam Cameron caught the imagination massively. Not everybody Whittaker fights will have that effect on the public, and the quitting storyline helped sell the fight too. I just don't see Whittaker drawing a big crowd without an opponent people identify with. The guy is exceptionally hard to like or become invested in.

Let's be honest: Cameron doesn't get any of that attention without the first fight, and fair play to him; he fooled many into thinking he was going to pull off the upset last night.

But based on last night's performance, I unfortunately don't see him drawing a big crowd again.

Whittaker, on the other hand, will continue to sell, especially on Sky.

Whittaker will sell fights purely on the basis that people will want to see him shut up and humbled,he's backed himself into a corner with his public demeanour

Liam Cameron looked way to happy to lose almost cheering. paid off idk. with his experience better taking a knee. stoppage was a joke and he was smiling and looking defeated before he even walked in. The crowd was fooled. Ben Whittaker bood by own fans and spat in his opponent trainers face and the whole jesus thing was fake & cringe. Not bothered about ever seeing Cameron again or quittaker if only to see him lose

Typical Howard Foster early stoppage. I thought Cameron should have been given a standing 8 count. Whittaker did what he needed to do, what happened in the first fight may have been a silver lining for him going forward. I'm not sure how far he can go in the 175lbs division, but it's good he put this wrong, right and he needs to remember when he begins feeling sensitive that whether people come to see him win, lose, love or loath he had a big crowd there last night and that's all that matters.

I see we have a familiar poster above my post in this thread who has rejoined doing the same nonsense he always does, new member but quoting old news, it's like he has been on ghis forum before lol

He jumped in to pull Whittaker away didn’t he?

Very impressive knowledge of the forum’s past seeing as you’re a new member.

Personally I love Matchroom, free tickets to nearly all their shows on the seat filler sites since they joined DAZN. Not paid for a matchroom show In years - whats not to like about that

see what I mean ^ It's all so childish and negative. You have a deep hatred for Hearn/Matchroom like your mate does. It's disturbing

It's funny cause Boxxers shows are going on smaller shows increasingly. Matchroom are still at the Sheffield arena whereas Boxxers last Sheffied show was at the Park Community Arena. Instead of the Liverpool area, boxxers last Liverpool show was at the Exhibition Centre!

And I'm pretty sure Boxxer are giving away tickets too, especially to their all female shows. Yet you won't mention that.

There's an argument they aren't even the number 3 promoter in the UK . Obviously Hearn and Warren are the top 2. But maybe even GBM And Wasserman are above Shalom now. The death of Sky Sports boxing thanks to one man.

His fighters participated in the Riyadh season and all them lost! I think it was every single boxxer fighter lost.

I mean all Boxxers fighters do is lose? It was Lee Cutler last night, TKV the other week, Buatsi and Bakole before that, Jonas, Azeez, Billam-Smith, Rhys Edwards, Riakporhe, Chamberlain, Denny, Kongo, Massey, Scott Forrest.

I've never known a boxing promotion with a TV deal have so many of their fighters losing so much!
