Povetkin and Peter should get there eventually no matter what (everyone seems to forget that Sam Peter still hasn't won a belt). Solis and Bostyov will get there if they continue to develop. Haye, Arreola, Chambers, Platov and Dimitrenko could get there with careful matchmaking. Thompson could win belts if he faces Ibragamov, but he wouldn't keep them for long. Others seem fairly uninspiring to me.

- Tye Fields could get lucky and get a piece simply because of his size and his workrate, but for the most part, he's too unskilled and his chin is too shaky.
- Kevin Johnson could get a piece if he gets active again, and he might have more talent than the other American prospects, but he's taken a step backwards to fighting bums more often than not again.
- Joe Mesi will be too gun shy to get there, when push comes to shove. He was a fringe champion-level talent to begin with, and I feel like he's just being protected from people who can throw a punch at this point.
- David Tua will never fight a live body again, and I'm not sure he could physicially keep up anymore even if he did.
- Greenberg has a padded record from fighting bums, and I question both his chin and his ability. Others falling into that category include Bergeron and Chazz Witherspoon, among numerous others too insignificant to name. I'd be VERY surprised if any of them wins a real title belt.
- Other guys who people have had big hopes for just clearly don't have the talent - Travis Walker, Jason Estrada, Taras Bidenko, Timor Ibragamov, Ray Austin, Bermain Stiverne, etc.
- A few other guys look intriguing (Tyson Fury, Bowie Tupou, Michael Hunter), but they're guys who are just starting up or are still amateurs and I'd need to see more of them to get a real feel for them.

whats up with all this hype about Tyson Fury?? From what ive heard about him is he is big but was extremely outclassed by Danny Price, who really hasn't made that much noise on the international amateur scene.

 

McCall looked horrible in one of his last fights against Gomez who easily outpointed the much slower McCall.If Gomez hadnt run out of gas in the later rounds he would have won every single round of his encounter with McCall.
