To date Manny Pacquiao is the only 8 division champion in boxing history. Do you ever see anyone else replicating that feat?

Nope he is one of the goats and MILES greater than anyone now. I have said Floyd is technically better, but Manny will go down as a bigger legend

Usyk, bivol, Crawford etc will just be a foot note in history. Inoue has a chance to solidify himself as a great, but he isn't Pac. None of these guys are

While my answer is no, I will present this caveat. There are eight weight classes and 32 belts to be won from 105 pounds through 130 pounds. If someone was very good young they could win championships in the non too crowded 105 and 108 pound weight classes. As that boxer naturally gets better and bigger it is feasible he could make his way up the weight classes and win himself a healthy collection of belts.

great fighter but you can't really put him in the same conversation as the greatest fighters of all time like Harry Greb, Willie Pep, Benny Leonard, Jack Dempsey, Tony Canzoneri, Rocky Marciano.

Inoue started at 108 and won the title there, he's 32 now however and I'm not sure if he any goals beyond super bantamweight.

We've only had 4 belts/tweeners what 40 years? And we got one so there probably will be another. Eventually. If there were fights for Manny to fight at 160 he could have done that. So I don't think its an impossible record.

The more impressive thing is how Manny beat De La Hoya and Margarito. Those sort of wins themselves aren't this impossible glass ceiling. I expect a future octuple champion to be edging out close decisions to win belts at their highest weight classes. Thats typically how it goes for these P4P greats.

When weight divisions had more meaning, Henry Armstrong had world titles in three divisions (would span 5 divisions nowadays) at the same time: featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.

That's actually more difficult than anything Pacquiao or Mayweather ever accomplished.

I do wonder if Inoue had focused on getting a belt at each weight then he could have got close to Pac's feats.

Titles at 135 and 154 were a complete farce.

I mean is this even possible to do in the current era? Fighters moving up in weight gets stripped of their titles very fast. Also with the way Fights gets made in today's scene. Its almost impossible to get these Lineal title fights in just few months.

If Armstrong did that today, he would get stripped of his Featherweight Title as soon as he moved up to Welterweight, if not here then before he competes at Lightweight.

PacMan does not require bull to make him appear greater than he is. It is time to let the 8 title lie die.

As much as I love Pacman, I still find the 8 division thing a bit overblown given that 2 of them IIRC were only Regular titles. No one would have said Itauma would have beat Mike Tyson's youngest heavyweight champ if he had one a regular title would they?
