    Holmes, easily (well, relatively easily).

I think you're underestimating Holmes's defence in his 2nd career.

He basically nullified Holyfield, Mercer's, offence rarely taking a real flush punch even Holyfield commented how hard it was to hit Holmes cleanly.

Yup Holmes defense, Even in his prime could be quite ordinary at times.

Holmes is the most likely victor after a couple scares Wilder was a fringe contender with a belt i will never let the revisionism skew me. Hes been outboxed by apparently far lesser ranked guys and his only top 10 win was old Ortiz. Old Holmes is trickier and than old Luis Ortiz for me

I like Wilder much more than many on this forum, but I'd take Larry to beat him...tomorrow.

A guy who lost to McCall and was known to get dropped by right hands beating a prime Wilder sure is a headscratcher.

He was more defensively responsible in his senior career. Still think he'd end up getting nailed at some point by Wilder's right though. If he could avoid that, he could win. I have every confidence in the 42-43 year old Holmes being able to beat Wilder on the cards.

Yep. And at 42 years old Holmes no longer had the speed to get in and out without getting tagged.

The Holmes who lost to McCall by 1 point BTW on 2 of the judges scorecards was 45 years old and that's not the 1992 version of Holmes as the thread clearly states.

And it's debatable whether or not Wilder could even beat McCall who would be the best win on his resume.

Any sane person knows that Ortiz was better than McCall.

No ten defense champion has ever lost to a guy in his forties who has lost his legs. It simply doesn’t happen.

At one point he drew with a guy who was definitely better.

A KO win against McCall is not happening, and I actually think he could outbox Wilder. He'd be a nightmare opponent for Wilder just due to his inhuman durability. Wilder would probably break his right hand on McCall's jaw.

A BS draw, imo. Fury won that one, scary KD or no.

Why is Ortiz better than McCall based on what ? So a contender with hardly any notable wins is better than a fighter who beat an ATG in Lewis ? And become a champion ? And you think that's a basis for clearly ? Absolutely no evidence to suggest Ortiz is better than McCall other than your baseless opinion.

That ten defense champion only beat 2 ranked fighters Stirverne, Ortiz, and Ortiz was at an advanced age aswell and came close to beating Wilder so again not really sure what you're on about.
