Eddie and Matchroom have reminded us in the last few weeks just how scummy they are.

I also was never going to watch it.

But I have a rare occasion for a weekend of bliss being on my own.

So going out for steak and chips and couple of pints with mates ( none boxing fans) then home to watch it in peace and I am going to buy it.

Starts 5pm, not had a day night like this for ages

After all the matchroom and benn shenanigans i really hope benn gets a career ending injury tonight, nothing too serious, just enough to end the vile ***** career!

Hope chris smashes him around that 18 ft ring tonight.

Vile, vile kid benn, not a likeable bone in his body!

He also would not of slept a wink. Awful awful management, perhaps the worst ever. The rehydrating starts now, and the fight is in a few hours!

Listening to Shalom, he's made it seem like Chris had a long drive through Central London, and the weight miss was nothing beyond a simple mix-up.

He also said he saw the scales fluctuate between 160 and 160.05; surely this is when Eubanks' manager should have kicked up a fuss and said either it's right or the fight is off, same with the gloves. The guy representing Eubank allowed Frank Smith to run rings around him yesterday

After the fuss Benn and Hearn made about the scales' calibration after he weighed in, it wouldn't surprise me if they were altered after Conor weighed in.

Hopefully, this is the case, and Eubank poleaxes him tonight, but Snr would not have tolerated all of this had he still been in.

Whatever the outcome, this fight has definitely caught the public's attention, but you can guarantee Yarde, Arthur, and the rest of the undercard will be fighting in a half-empty stadium and then then suddenly everyone will appear with there phones to capture the moment for Instagram.

Jesus, he looks like a holocaust survivor here; no wonder Nigel sounds so confident in the background.

I cant get over how bad Eubank's representation has been here. You would think he was the drug cheat. Don't do things on the cheap and surround yourself with yes men would be my advice.

The gulf between the two teams is akin to Liam Cameron v Artur Beterbiev, in fact that fight might even be closer in levels.

I want him to win and will cheer like Nigeria have won the World Cup if he does, but I'm betting on Benn as a buffer and wont be hearing any excuses should he lose.

Good post. I’m reminded by the great conduct of Joe Gallagher at the recent Natasha Jonas weigh in where he refused to let it continue until he’d seen evidence of the scales being calibrated. Obviously Eubank needed someone like that. Disappointing from Shalom that he’s seen the weight flickering but hasn’t kicked up a fuss AT THE TIME. Big Mick Hennessy would have gone bezerk.

The missed weight is all a smoke screen. As far as we should all be concerned, Chris made the weight. He put himself through hell and did what he needed to do to make 160. He’s now met the rehydration limit too. Very admirable from the student of the warrior’s code.

Tbf i think people are underestimating the natural weight difference in benn and eubank. Benn a 147 fighter.....eubank a tight at the weight 160 lb fighter. If their we,re no weight clauses....its a complete non event.

As much as its a money fight for benn....it also is for eubank. It was either take the fighter under the stipulations or dont take it. Without them stipulations tho benn doesnt have a chance whatsoever. With them....he does have a chance only really if eubank doesnt recover in time. But if he does recover in time...benns chances go down a lot.

The board of control is basically toothless at this point. The old man eubank senior has a point. But nothing will stop when theres millions on the table to be made.

I dont really blame hearn for putting the stipulations in. What i will say tho is his attitude towards it all has shown him up for what he is and thats coming from someone thats defended him in the past.

If connor benn had any decency he,d give the fine back to eubank junior. The kid basically made the weight and he killed himself doing it. 160.05 is close enough imo.
