In a bizarre mythical world.. It's 1992-1993..Roy Jones is asked how he would fare against Bemn and Eubank, RJJ replies Ihed beat them both on the same night.

It gets set up with two twists

RJJ fights 12 rounds against Benn who fights rounds 1,3,5,7,9,11 and Eubank who fights rounds 2,4,6,8,10 and 12

If one of the Brits get stopped the other then takes his place for the rest of the fight

How would it have panned out.

Roy KOs Benn by round 5 or 7 if he's in the mood.

Chris Snr sees the final bell but doesn't have the workrate or class to really trouble that version of Roy.

Honestly, I think Roy Jones Jr would beat both Benn and Eubank pretty comfortably in this setup.

Benn would definitely be dangerous early. He was always capable of landing something big if you gave him half a chance and his aggression in the first few rounds would probably force Jones to respect him straight away. But the thing is, Benn’s style, as explosive and exciting as it was, left him wide open for counters. Against someone like Roy, who had freakish speed and reflexes at that point (1992-1993), it’s just a bad stylistic match for him. Benn would come flying in, miss and get clipped with hard counters. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Benn got stopped somewhere between rounds 5 and 7. Not because he was soft (he was ridiculously tough), but because he’d take too many clean, unanswered shots trying to close the distance.

Eubank is a different kind of problem, but still one Roy would handle. Eubank was a lot more awkward, harder to hit clean and was harder to rattle mentally in terms of staying calm and sticking to his plan. Even when he was getting outboxed, he never really lost his composure. I don't see Roy stopping Eubank, Chris had an iron chin back then and wasn’t the kind of guy to go out on his shield recklessly. He’d survive the distance but he would lose clearly on points, round after round. Roy’s speed, athleticism and shot variety would be too much for him to cope with.

Plus, alternating rounds like that actually helps Roy in a way. It would break up the rhythm of both Benn and Eubank and Roy was so good at adapting in real time that the constant switching wouldn't throw him off. If anything, it would confuse Benn and Eubank more.

So yeah, in this fantasy scenario:
    • Benn probably gets stopped around round 5 or 7.
    • Eubank fights most of the second half, stays on his feet, but gets outboxed and loses wide on the cards.
    • Roy wins by a lopsided decision.

Roy really was that good back then. Crazy athleticism, but also really sharp boxing IQ that people sometimes overlook.

Not saying Benn and Eubank weren’t great fighters, they absolutely were and tough as hell, but against that version of Roy? I just don’t see either of them being able to deal with him for very long.

Can't have Eubank or Benn winning ever against Jones Jr,in any capacity tbh.

If a dude could play a game of basket in which he knocked out a dude a few hours later in a boxing ring,I'm not sure Eubank or Benn can beat him.

I see two extreme scenarios for Benn. I either see Roy blasting Benn out early and easily, or if Roy does not, then I see Benn giving Roy major troubles with his grueling relentless nonstop style with low head head moving and butting and rabbit punching along with up and down punches. Roy still might catch and get him out late.

Eubank was smart and strong and tough, and might catch Roy with a really well timed blow here and there, and Roy would struggle to catch him solid very often, but I also think Eubank was too basic with a slow enough pace and not fast enough to outwork Roy. Likely Jones by decision.

He’d have to plan the matchups strategically, take the fight first where he’s more likely to win early, Benn is more open and Jones could lead with big uppercuts and draw the counters, goes at at him straight away if he hurts him and looks to take him out.

That way he’d more more fresh for the Eubank fight, which would likely go longer, but obviously there’s a risk he doesn’t get Benn out early and if he does win, he’s gassed for the Eubank fight.

I say he should risk it and try to get Benn out early so hems fresher for the Eubank fight.

But obviously there’s a chance the fight does go long, then he’s gotta get in there with another elite fighter in Eubank, not to mention that both Benn and Eubank could win anyway even without the same night thing, since they both have a punchers chance, and Eubank is great at and is tricky and sneaky at setting up knockout punches.

These things all added up, I don’t think Jones beats them both on the same night.

    RJJ would toy with Benn.

Eubank might just nick a couple rounds in a losing effort at his best night and would be a solid name for RJJ's record.
