Brilliant fight but both fighters should compete at their own weights. If I were Eubank I’d probably not bother at 35. But then I do like money
I think Eubank Jr should cash out against Canelo at 168. I'm not sure who Canelo has lined up after Scull and I don't think Eubank makes it out against Canelo but from what he shown last night, he is still willing to go out swinging. I know Callum Simpson maybe isn't a big enough name but if Eubank fights at 168 he would make a decent domestic opponent. He wants no part of Sheeraz, that much is clear. Benn needs to decide what weight he wants to fight at, at 147 if he can make it, it is probably the only division in which he might be able to pick up a world title. At 154, he gets blown out viciously, at 160 I can't even think of anyone he wouldn't be outsized by.
Not for me unless the weight stipulations are changed, but then that makes it equally unsafe for Benn if Eubank is even bigger. No one has heard from Eubank yet and he looked and sounded in a bad way after the fight. On the contrary Benn has been all over social media, says it all. I’ve got a feeling Eubank is in hospital on a drip to get the fluids back into his body after exhaustion.
think Benn should try to get a fight with Uisma Lima, get ranked in all the boards at 154, then have a pick of one of the titlists there. keep this fight for later, Eubank looks like he has 2 years left and a title shot in him at 168. why do this all again to waste both careers. it's gonna be feb 2026 when it happens, what is the fallout by then with crawford or canelo moving in or out of the divisions, is a domestic middleweight gonna take a title? etc. it was a fight that exceeeded expectations but it is a forced fight for little ripples in the any division they are campaigning at.
It was a great fight and delighted Eubank won, but no. Eubank can't make 160 safely anymore, and Benn is a 147 / 154 pounder. Eubank should focus at 168, Benn should focus at 147 or 154.
