Walcott had a good track record against bigger men, he beat Sandy Ferguson in one of their fights as well as George Gardner and Choynski, how would he do against Burns?

I'd bet on Walcott. Burns seemed pretty easy to time and Walcott seemed to have that next level.

Burns is one of the few pre WW1 fighters, that looks (to me, anyway) reasonably "modern" in his approach.

Though a very small HW, he would likely still be much too big and strong for the diminutive Walcott. Also, having never seen a clip of Walcott, it's difficult to say, how good he really was.

Given the lack of footage of BJW, it's completely guesswork based on their respective records.

I consider Burns a little overrated at HW by some (presumably based on his quantity of title defences) and considerably underrated p4p by most. Ironic, then, that this is a rare instance of where I'd favour Burns H2H in a contest at 175lbs or above, but consider that BJW is the greater fighter p4p.

I concur with this summation in its entirety. Call it exactly how I see it.

Barbados the greater fighter by a fair margin but don’t see him overcoming the weight difference — but not a ton of evidence upon which to base the pick and certainly no way to make a better educated guess without film.
